Yes, but communication requires more than one person. If the other party isn't very intelligent or simply won't listen, the first party will just spin their wheels. Communication is a two way street and Brucie isn't even on the same street.

Missdirected:
Thinking/wise/intelligent people know how to communicate.

Missditected,

I agree with you that leaders, educators, etc. should know how to communicate. I have to disagree about loud speaking, yelling, screaming. They have there place in effective communication. Watch the filmed speaches of Martin Luther King or Adolf Hitler. Sporting coaches frequently use loud voices to enthuse athletes. Or talk to a teacher or any public speaker about getting the attention of a class or audience, be it children or adults. Louder than normal voices can convey passion, enthusiasm, or importance to a message and are part of effective communication. To suggest otherwise, is to condemn us to a lifeless monotone din of information without inflection. How boring and ineffective would that be?

Just my opion, (in a soft, smooth, conversational tone)

You are taking the screaming we are discussing out of context, my friend. The condescending note you ended on was not necessary. My apologies, if you did not mean it that way :) *Stated in a firm voice  Okay, no more time to play and mince words. I have to go pick up tanks for tomorrow. Ciao.

Gibson, I did not say that I disagreed on that point.

Kinda like blaming someones ineptitude and grossly misrepresented skills on their instructor.

I have not done this, go back and read again. You have never dived with me so have no idea of my skills. Tell me where I have grossly misrepresented.

Meister481:
I take classes to learn a skill, not to get plastic with my name on it.

Me too. I like cave diving a lot and want to do more. In fact I am just off to Menorca for over a week of cave diving.

I read this as well as your post to form an opinion.

I never said anything about anyone in particular, that would be opposed to the TOS here at Scubaboard.

You are going cave diving, but didn't pass your cert? Or am I wrong?

You seem incapable of answering my question.

So I ask you again. You have told the board that I have grossly misrepresented my skills. Prove it.

I have IANTD Intro to cave and will be diving exactly the same sites that I did on this course.

That is debatable, there is ample evidence that this is not true........

I'm a little unsettled that you would attack an instructor and not tell everyone why you failed. Do you really think the instructor failed you because he didn't like you? Do you refute anything he has posted? In order to pass a deco class with my instructor you have to do a valve shutdown in midwater, same with cavern class.

I see a bunch of people on several boards talking about you in poor light. Your post is the only one that names your instructor. You really don't see a problem?

Dan We never have this problem do we :rofl3:

I read his post, he didn't "tell" anyone anything, he merely compared one thing to another, and it made prefect sense if you took the time to read the "tangle" of threads on this and many other boards about this subject. I'll say one thing Brucie, you do get around, and you do have a reputation.
Just my 2 psi,

After dealing with some of the same people over the years, I doubt we could ever suffer that problem. Were immune.
