Guess he means those florida weights that are actually not lead but painted styrofoam. Big issue with that down there! One op is even using old cow patties shaped like weights. That was one stupid statement.

Leave your weights at home. Also unless your bc is a piece of crap hard weights will not hurt the pouches. In fact you may find hard weights easier to use.

And if you can't carry your own gear you might want to find another sport. If your diving with an op then weights will be included with the dive usually. TSA frowns on things tha tshow up as big gray blobs on the xray.

Who did your ow cert? This all should have been covered especailly the parts about not using hard weights in pouches? Where is this from. I don't like hard weights on the belt cause they dig into my hips but in pouches? C'mon get real. I'm smelling a little troll doodoo here.

Aly, I feel bad. Specially since you are trying to defend my nonsence too. :rofl3:

I'm just messing with you. It is crazy to haul all that weight over there. Just rent weight in Florida. :mooner:

Just don't eat the sharks there :dork2: I mean, don't get eaten by sharks

Why not just pick up a few rocks and put them in your pouch. Then you don't have to worry about your luggage or your carry on. Leave the lead. Should be able to find dive shop close by. You did say you were going to Florida, right. hell I could find 3 close dive shops with a click of a mouse and I don't even live close to the water. Great state of Texas is big though

youre mean :blahblah: and i am really fricken gullible. Next time it will be you i pour the water on. Thanks for letting me know btw otherwise i probably would have ended up luging the weight...I hate it when i fall for stuff.

I thought July Fool's Day was last week...

don't feel bad about being gullible Aly. On my first boat dive in Hawaii the DM handed me sea cucumber and later on the boat told me it was whale poop. i couldn't figure out what all the giggling was about till the end of the day when they told me what it really was.:dork2:

:rofl3:. Ive been getting lots of flack from Ren and the other guys for my dive attempts at Vets beach last week so i didn't see this coming. At least i found out before i decided to lug my weights through LAX. well thats what i get for trusting a prankster. lol.

I wish I had the heart to let you lug the weights back and forth. Specially since you would have given us hours and hours of laughs. Don't worry though, we will still laugh about this at our next picnic. Have a great trip.

Oh im just surprised that jeff hasn't joined in yet on this thread. Ill try to have a great trip and hopefully if i beach dive ill have a bit better success rate out there
