I think if we are going with this whole new religion theme we should of course have Black Velvet Robes. :wink:

Gotta have hoods as well.

I can see up becoming a new-age retro religeon, distinct from the fundamentalist halcyon wing! When my Dad started diving it was a "new" thing to have a strip of colour on your wet suit so you could be seen more easily! Since I live in VA where there is a lot of other "false" religeon, I have now decided that I will tell anyone who asks that I am scubatarian :)

While in Bonaire I saw a church with a reef mural on it that quoted a psalm (110 I think) and spoke of the lords work in the deep.

I wonder if we could also be "Church of Christ Scuba Diver"? Since there is Christ Scientist (in England - I think they are an offshoot of the Scientologists).

Anyway, I almost made a convert yesterday. I offered to let him come into the pool with me and learn the ways of scuba :)

OK you got the structure figured out. Who is the Buddha, Jesus, Mohammed or whoever of this religion?

Hmmm I think it would be a toss up between Jules Verne and Jacques Cousteau :)

How about Flipper?

How about Flipper?
Or how about Patrick Duffy aka Bobby Ewing aka The Man from Atlantis!

The Shark is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to dive down in blue waters:
He leadeth me beside the still bright coral.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of stingrays for His name' sake.

Yea, though I swim through the valley of the shadow of seaweed,
I will fear no baraccuda: For my diving buddy art with me;
Thy camera and thy flash, they picture me.
Thou preparest a dive before me in the presence of mine buddies;
Thou annointest my head with seawater; My mask runneth over.

Surely sea horses and schools of fish shall follow me all the dives of my life,
and I will dwell in the Deep Blue Sea forever.

I think you've just landed yourself a job as high priestess!
