I have really cut down my eating but where I fall over is I spend a lot of time on the road as a Sales Rep so dont often get to eat good healthy home cooked meals.
Any suggestions for eating healthy on the road? I usually dont have anywhere to cook so that kinds kills it for me.

Cheers

The trick is to avoid fried food, but it can be tough.
The Atkins diet works well for some or at least a variation of it.

No fried breakfasts, stick to juice and non sugar cereal.
Eat the steak but refuse the potatoes, fries, etc.
Have salad for lunch.

No Alcohol during the week, a complete bummer when you are traveling I know, but take the camera and go out walking every evening when you would normally stop and have a beer.

p.s. I am just starting as well. 6ft, 17 stone (110 Kg), wifes a good cook and I like my beer.
Started swimming, 1 km in the pool hopefully 3 times a week. It's the beer that is my downfall.

This summer I started on the South Beach Diet. I have lost 30 pounds so far. I also heard about a swim test for my OW class, so in my usual immoderate style I began swimming a mile to a mile and a half each morning. With teaching school that has become hard, but I bike for a minimum of 30 minutes or swim each day except Sunday.

Today after school I will be hitting the Nautilus machines in the gym.

What I have learned is to stick with it. Take small setbacks in stride and keep up the exercise. My diet has helped tons with reducing my cholesterol which is why I started it.

You know, I read this and nothing registered in my brain and then I read this quoted and something clicks. If you're really serious about it, you can get an electric cooler- they plug into your lighter plug in the car. You could then carry cold cuts and low-fat mayo or whatever for sandwiches. As well as veggies for snacking on.

They sell them in the truck stops here in the states- cheaper than you can get them in stores last I checked.

They don't keep things quite as cold as a refridgerator would- and I wouldn't trust dairy products for too long, but that may help you out.

Of course, it's a lot easier to just run through the drive through!

fighting off a lurgy so feeling hot then cold then stuffed up then sore throat so no walking for me

BUT

a 100% postive food day yesterday.... ive even decided i wont go to the staff lunchroom to fill up my water bottles as thats where the snack machine is!

one day at a time... one meal at a time

Hi y'all! Sorry I haven't been around for a few days. Started traveling for work, so eating right is gonna be hard...I feel fat and yucky already......
About to order some dinner...and then I'm off to the hotel gym for some cardio

good luck Ms D!

try to order a big salad or lots of veggies with each meal and eat that first!

now - OFF TO THE GYM!

Same ol same ol here - 30 minute brisk walk plus about 30 minutes on the beach walking with the doggies which ranged from hard to lollygaggin' :) Then went out to take photos of another couple for 1.5 hours which was a lot of slogging through the sand with my gear, clambering over rocks and squats which have to be good for my legs!

Back on the bike this morning, six mile then abs, and arms stuff..., starting a new job has really curtailed my eating, and my Scubaboard time..

:yeahbaby: Another great exercise, did the usual cardio and ball exercise, also spent a good one hour catching moths, butterflies, and putting them into spider's web and just watching the spiders working is just amazing. :11: Unfortunately there is a large horn owl in the back keeps on watching me though. Tried to scare it away, but thing just sat there and started going to sleep.
