Nice Arctic.

I've been remiss, but working out and coldwater diving. Tonight I realized I really need to start pushing myself and am going to begin reducing my calories by 100 per day. My weight is at a bit of a standstill and I need to get it to break.

33 minutes on the free movement elliptical - 2.6 miles and 405 calories. Phew!

I did a 5K on Saturday. My friend has one of those watches that calculate everything. She did her run 10 min faster and burned only 350 calories. Did I burn less than that??

These are not questions to ask. Instead, you just tell yourself "no way did she burn more calories than I did! After all, I had to do all the calculations in my head- that, of course, counts for nearly 1/3 of all calories burnt! Man, is my friend lazy or what?"

Incidentally, I didn't move at all yesterday. I had reasons- and I had plans to go for that walk- but life got in the way and I let it. I had to run errands for someone else- plus it was raining in the morning. I ate sensibly instead.

Today- 2 rounds. I estimate 20 minutes. I'm getting ready to do some sit ups, leg lifts and push ups after I pay a couple bills.

I don't know what the logic is in the determination of calories burnt, although you should always bear in mind that the heavier the person, the more calories they will burn b/c of the sheer movement of the weight! So, if you are lighter than me (probable) or than your friend - do not get stressed. Don't get frustrated. Don't loose hope. Sorry to sound so "pumped up" - but I know that I, too, need to read or hear those words of encouragement more often than not.

That's a great beach! I can't wait to come back to FL although I hear that you guys have been a bit more breezy than normal. Hopefully the diving is not affected when I am down there. I cannot wait!!!!!! I am so excited already!
 
Again, the elliptical. 410 calories, 2.61 miles. Kicked my tail although it was infinity more enjoyable being able to watch a movie on my phone whilst working out. That was a definite plus!
 
Took the morning off... sorta. Just a nice long bike ride, just fast enough that the dog got a good workout, and I got some fresh air.
Where's the coffee??
 
I've been working out on a treadmill since January, 2008. 30 mins each day, some days off for rest. My goal is to be in better shape for diving my doubles this year. I'm at the point now where if i don't do my cadio, I feel yuccky. I do an Abs workout, too, plus stretching. I have more energy and endurance, and less aches and pains at 50 than I had at 49:D

Saturday I went to the pool and noticed that climbing up the ladder (always the worst part) was actually EASY!
