I'm baaaccckkk!

Turns out I'm not nearly as far over the depression thing as I thought I was, but I am holding on.

I've set new goals and have determined to do my best each day - and to be HAPPY with my daily best. Some are going to be awesome days, some are going to be just so-so...but each one is going to be the best I can bring to it.

Today I've been running around doing household chores as my "movement" - might hit the beach for a walk a bit later, but we'll just have to see about that.

My beautiful girl, Dora, is doing great on her (enforced!) weight loss/fitness quest - she is down 2 kgs since 20 December!!

She is really playing with the new puppy so that's only going to help her each day, too!

Sorry to hear about your depression. I am not sure why you feel this way, but the holidays are a difficult time for many people(not to mention the effects of crappy weather! Although, that may not be a problem for you in Australia). That cute new puppy seems to be the thing to 'spruce you up a bit'.

Congrats on the new puppy, and good luck on your goals! :D

Good luck with your goals, alcina! You can do it :) Holiday's were hard for me too...but it's in the past now, nothing we can do about it...so we'll push forward!
That puppy is adorable and apparently well loved and needed by both you and Dora.

Made it to the gym today for a good cardio step work out...so I'm feeling good...and tired...wish I was at home to take a nap instead of sitting at my desk at work :)

You have to do a session tomorrow!!! Cause I'm gonna ask you about it! You let the cat out of the bag now!!!! ;)

i hate flstarfish44

;)

well i dont think i will be doing a thru morning kickboxing session again, not after doing a wed morning session... my poor body!!!

i have asked the trainer if there is interest in a friday 6am session so i could do 3 sessions per week but have a break between each one - fingers crossed im not the only one

uggghhhh - now to get out of this chair... oh my poor legs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

:hugs: alcina... i hope you are seeing some rainbows today that tell you that there is much wonders in your life & future! i dont understand the misery of suffering from depression but you are being thought of and wishing the best for you!

btw - i think we need a return to our "daily pics while exercising" bit..... be it a scenery, a person, a car driving by, a peice of trianing equipment - anything that you see while you are exercising and to show us part of your world! i'll start again tomorrow

Do you know I was JUST logging in to post a question to you..."Oh dear Mrs. A. It's that time, you know. Time to ask if you busted your hump today like you said you would!!!" And lo and behold, I see you beat me to it. I must have really skeeered you yesterday. ;) It's so rewarding to know that you did it though, isn't it? Have you ever finished working out only to think, "Man, I so wish I had done something else with that time."?

But I will state for the record that I have been keeping up as well, just haven't been logging it in daily. 5 miles last night and 6 miles accomplished the night before. Next week I start strength training again. Uh, I promise.

I like the idea of posting a pic, I would like to do that. And I will as soon as I get my camera phone replaced/fixed. What a great idea!!

By the way, do you know I still plan on working out while I'm on vacation down in your part of the world, Mrs. A? That's what kind of trooper I am. :blinking:

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone. Perversely, the holidays were a good time in the cycle for me, so that's been a bonus!

Ms A - that's awesome that you have a trainer. I'm so jealous. I guess a new gym has opened up here but I'm realistic enough to know that I can barely find the time to do what I need to do and take 60 minutes of my day to enjoy a beach walk that I'll not be finding more time to hit it - so membership isn't on the cards...this week, anyway :)

I, too, want to do the photo thing!! It was great when we were doing it - I'm going to start today so stay tuned!

I did get out for a short walk yesterday afternoon and it felt great. Today I'm off to the beach to shoot a family session and that will mean some walking and movement for me - it's amazing how physically demanding taking real photos is!

Keep your chin up. It can be downright depressing to be depressed, not meaning to sound funny (although it kinda does, huh?). Sometimes it just stinks when you know you feel bad and want very much to feel better, but it just doesn't seem possible. Usually its just something you have to push through and come out on the other side in order to feel better. But remember that in every day there is SOMEthing to be thankful and grateful for, and there are surely people around that love you.

On a side note, studies have shown that exercise does help depression. They say that, but you know, I don't know. Exercise just seems so dang HARD and 'not fun'. ;)

P.S. I LOVEyour dogs!! I'm a huge dog lover. We have five in our family, all spoiled rotten. Miss Dora and her new 'toy', the new puppy, are adorable!

I did an hour of Tae Bo Amped today

Oh my goodness.........If I can make it out of bed in the morning it will be a miracle!

Did an hour of weights...where I pushed my limits with each set.
And then did 30 minutes of "cardio skills & drills"...which is basically your old fashioned kinesthetics - jumping jacks, jump rope, laps, and a million other things that nearly had me doubled over. YIKES!

Feelin' good though :D :D :D
