Welcome to flstarfish and highlandfarmwv to the the group!

I felt *SO* good today on my run this morning, I was even smiling! People must of thought I was completely mad! LOL...

Thanks a bunch for the welcome! Were you on what they call a 'runner's high' maybe? It's good when the endorphins kick in, makes it a little easier to keep going. :D

I'm happy I did six miles last night plus 45 minutes of strength training. You start the week off right, it makes it easier to stick to the game plan the rest of the week.

Trickster, do you have a heart monitor on while exercising? I'm looking to get a better one. Just wondering.

Welcome all the "new" folks! Lots of good, positive vibes here. Ya'll are doing so well, that I feel like a slacker. However, without justification, we are all at different places in our fitness regime and I hope to get back where I was a year ago.
I did walk this morning, and jogged about a mile. Was gone just about a half hour. I do not time myself or the distance, as I do not want that to be the focal point. Charlie (the dog in the avatar) has been my buddy and my reason for getting out of bed in the morning. If he doesn't get exercise, I pay for it later.. chewed up stuff and he won't let me sleep. LOL

I get like that too Jenny....if I am not active, i start to chew things up.

Good job! You will get back into it, just keep challenging yourself.

ps....you better play nice

Made it to the gym last night...did want to go, but halfway through my workout, started to feel pretty good...
First time I've done a Step class in 3 months......man do I hurt this morning...wearing flats to work b/c anything higher than that makes my calves scream "you are such a idiot!" :)

Yeah I use a 'Polar S625x HRM' - more details here

I love it, really useful for distance and tracking your progress and now I have the Infra Red link I can download the profiles to my laptop

Can't recommend one enough!

last night claiming frantic housekeeping for FairyBasslets arriving and today was "toning". sounds kinda lame until you start doing situps on a fitball and your abs start shaking and then you have dips and squats and other stuff but i did it!!

still nothing happening on the scales but i dont care... at least im doing something

cheers

Oh no! Housekeeping definitely counts as exercise! Especially when it's of the frantic nature. You'd be surprised at how many calories you can burn doing housekeeping! :D

And I agree with you on the fitball work. It's actually pretty good at targeting specific areas, but you'd never think that with something kinda fun to use. And let's be honest, it's fun too to just lay across the thing and relax when you're all done.

Now if I get up an extra 15mins earlier I reckon I could crack out 10km before work every day! - now thats a personal challenge!

Just found this thread. Jan 1 will be my day. I want to get in shape for Mar 5 Bonaire trip!! I need to lose about 20 lbs and get some strength to carry all that gear over the ironshore!

Wow! good luck with that! I am in the same boat. I am going to Cozumel March 8th. I think 20lbs sounds like a reasonable goal.

Okay guys, I know I have been slacking. Finals week is almost over, so my slacking should be reaching the end :D I did one hour of cardio today. I should have been studying, but I worked out anyway! I was going crazy. It was going on 4 days without any workouts! :11:

WHOO HOO! 10km THIS MORNING!! :D:14:
