As a first timer to the east side I would recommend coconuts or chen rio. I prefer chen rio for the beach area, the whole fried fish and the food in general. The view from coconuts is very nice. Also like Rastas for the hammocks and the south point breeze.

The place in my video has no facilities, but makes the best fresh fruit drinks. His cooler is an old rusty refrigerator laying on its back. No running water, etc.

Do not eat at Playa Bonita or even stop there.

The names & stop numbers on the map do not match the schedule.

This your first trip to Mexico?????????

The map maker left off San Francisco Beach Club, so that kinda meses with the stop numbers. I'd just tell them you want to stop at "Mirador" (alternately written as "Lookout Site" on the stop list, just to make it harder to find!)

I agree about Playa Bonita, unfortunately. It used to be one of my favorite places on the "wild side", but beach erosion has taken a toll and is not done. There used to be 40-50 feet of beach between the steps and the water, but now the water is up to the steps and is eroding the building's foundation. One of these days the beach facing facade is going to tumble into the water, and I am not exaggerating.

The bright spot over there is Punta Morena. For years it sat there in ruins, but 5 or so years ago the owners (probably it changed hands) began pouring money into the place, and it's very nice now. It has a pool, a massage hut, beach volleyball, shops, and a very decent restaurant.

Punta Morena is still owned by the same family...

How do they have a pool and restaurant without electricity?

They use solar panels, a wind turbine, and back-up generator.
