Halcyon Blue Carbon Fiber standard backplate (GUE Anniversary edition).
Brand new, never touched the water. Harness is still factory rigged.
Has a tiny little white nick in the middle of the backplate (pictured).
I will not separate the harness from the backplate at this time.
The harness...
I have a friend who wants to get certified and asked me for some advice. So I am looking for recommendations of instructors who teach OW classes in a DIR configuration with proper buoyancy, trim, skills, etc.
I did mention GUE Rec 1, but he didn't seem to be willing to do it because of the...
Is it normal for a latex drysuit neck seal to roll up after putting it on? It's not a problem comfort-wise, but I wonder if I can cut off a couple of rings from the seal so that it doesn't roll up anymore and sits flat on my neck?
Do you guys simply clip the double ended bolt snap through the spool and SMB? Or you do one those loops wrapping around the bolt snap to "lock" it?
I don't see it being an issue as it would probably never detach in my pocket, but I saw someone doing one of those loops even if they're carrying...
Teaming up with fellow Rotarians, Diveheart volunteers help make quick work of setting up a Shelter Box disaster tent for display during the Rotary Zone conference this week in Houston. Tents like this are deployed around the world by Rotarians when communities are in need after a disaster hits...
Just looking for stage regulator recommendations. I'm inclined to get the Halcyon stage regulator package for the convenience of having everything included. It's just a bummer that they don't do free parts for life like Apeks, for instance.
Is anybody here interested in taking Tech 1 anytime soon?
More specifically in South Florida, as I am a wetsuit diver.
I got nothing scheduled, but I have a couple of instructors who are willing to teach here in South Florida as long as I find someone else to take it with me.
I assume user-replaceable wrist seal systems are very common. Is it the same with neck seals? Or is it more common to not bother with replaceable neck seals?
I also got a recommendation to choose a silicone neck seal instead of a latex neck seal. What materials are preferred for neck seals? I...

Hi,
I'm planning to take the GUE Fundamentals class later this year and before the class to start I would like to buy a full equipment compatible with the class requirements.
I've been diving for a few years, currently certified (CMAS) up to 40m, nitrox (<40%), and having done something like 70...
GUE Cave 1 with Meredith Tanguay -- early December 2020, High Springs, FL
The GUE Cave 1 course that my wife and I experienced was likely little different than all the other Cave 1 courses for which others have written course reports. For us, what stands out is that it took us over four years...
Hi, I’m a GUE diver based in Seattle getting into tech while I’m here. I’m originally from CT and we’re looking at moving back next summer.
Any GUE or tech divers around? Doesn’t have to be GUE specifically, but would love to keep diving as much as I do (3-4 dives/week) with people of similar...
Hello!
I hope this post finds you safe, healthy, and in good spirits during these challenging times.
Just a little bit of information before I begin:
I'm a 16 year old guy, who is currently in my Junior year of High School. I am currently diving every week for around 3.5 hours in our pool...
I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the XDEEP Hydros 40 wing. I am about to pull the trigger to switch to Halcyon, but thinking of it as an alternative being $200 cheaper ($339 vs $540).
Main concern I have about the Hydros wing is that they state they reduced the volume of the...

I think a lot about my future diving and how to proceed into the level I want to and would like to brainstorm a bit my ideas with you to have another insight, opinions and maybe recommendations :-)
First, bit about my diving history, skills and interest:
I did my OWD + basic...

Hi guys!
Old discussion, I've read so many threads, but I still cannot figure out what are the main differences in terms of contents between GUE Cave 1 and other courses (so NOT about the way of teaching and/or presenting contents). My point is that I really cannot understand what a GUE...
Thinking about taking a couple/few months off next year to get formal technical training. Since I lived in the Riviera Maya before, I was thinking Cozumel or Playa or Tulum, but would be open to other locations in the area if it is the right choice.
My idea is to take the full range of tech...
**** DISREGARD THIS FOR NOW, IT MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE*****
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Becoming a cave diver has been a goal of mine ever since I started diving. I was hoping to take the first steps towards that a few months ago by taking my fundies course. Unfortunately I got sick and had a...
