I had my fin placed just like you, at least until i was a hair from losing one of my fins in the wicked Galapagos current. After that i have been VERY careful to place the straps over that bump.
Here are a couple (not ranked in order)
- Cocos
- Socorro
- Guadalupe
- Sudan
- Filippines
- French Polynesia
- Sardine run in SA
- Truk Lagoon (especially jellyfish lake)
The list can go on and on and on...
I have tried the AL Dimension and i really liked it, felt really well built and good fit. But i didn't like it enough to change it since my Mares Pegasus feels less bulky (and a lot cheaper but since i already own it doesn't quite matter for me) and weights less. This is a pretty important...
I personally pack my gear in a hard suitcase, probably not as smooth and easy to stow as the soft ones and i bet more than one crew members of several liveaboard has cursed both once and twice but it does the job and doesn't scream "HEY, COME GRAB ME I'M FULL OF EXPENSIVE EQUIPMENT THAT CAN...
That sounds reassuring since i just ordered one of these masks. I do have a tricky face, narrowish but not straight and not the smallest of noses, so i keep my fingers crossed. I do have to say that i have tried quite a few masks and the one that fitted me the best this far is SubGear Vibe. Not...
I use them too and after have tried them i really can't imagine going diving without them. Or actually i did once last summer by accident. I felt the difference right away.
Will you ever in the future offer a combined trip between Socorro and Guadalupe? I know that they are pretty far apart but you never know if you don't ask :).
I have been on a couple of liveaboards (Maldives, Egypt, Thai) but no one fitted your description like when i was visiting the Galapagos with the Buddy fleet, the boat was on a different level. And their coffee machine is really awesome!
IDK about the itinerary but if you are diving only close to shore i would give you the recommendation to dive the North Seymoure since it's supposed to be one of the best dive sites available from land.
If you are looking to connect external strobes to your housing i would avoid the Ikelite housing as it is supposed to (idk since i haven't seen it myself) be quite a hassle as supposed to the NA or Recsea which are more or less "bolt on". Good luck :)
First of all, sorry for the grave digger =)
So the quattros do fit inside the bag? Are yours the full foot or strap version? Has anyone with the g2 tried fitting the quattros?
