Did anyone see the episode of Airwolf, where Hawke blasts the Catalina Casino to pieces
See you up there somewhere drbill a legend in your own lifetime and with your own hair

The Lorax of the kelp forests will be sorely missed, you know it’s powerful when the passing of a person you have never met brings a tear to your eye.

We’ve truly lost a legend. My condolences to his family and many, many friends. I’m sad I never had the chance to meet him in person but thankful to have interacted with him many times here on SB.

For those that did not know Bill well, he fought multiple cancers for the last several years. He was not given much to be optimistic about, yet he fought it with courage and grace and humor, going well beyond what they thought he could do. He started diving again, with the same enthusiasm if not the stamina to dive as often as he used to.

Should I (heaven forbid) be faced with similar circumstances, I hope I can face them with the same courage and attitude as Bill did. He didn't just teach us abut the ocean.

It is early morning here in CenCal.

I am still stunned by the passing of a friend and confidant:

Dr. Bill Bushing....

To organize my mind....
I go for a long walk along the beach
but I don't hear the crashing of the waves
or notice the salt in the air
or the warm California sunshine ....

For the world has lost a great one

Via Con Dios Dr. Bill

SDM, III
