Another vote for Heisler (Laguna) on Saturday and get a charter for the those that wish on Sunday. Looking forward to seeing fellow SBers again.

Another vote for Heisler. If I get enough notice I won't book a boat for that day.

I kind of like this plan. There are several members that don't, won't or can't dive locally and a dry meet & greet will all to attend. Depending on the numbers involved, we could charter one or two of the Long Beach boats for Sunday or shoot over to the Casino Dive Park.

How about a dry meet & greet on a saturday, and a Sunday dive for those who want to get wet? We could meet in Long Beach area, then check some of the local charter boats near there or go to the dive park, or beach dive Laguna on Sunday.

I kind of like the idea of one of the Laguna sites, it could be good for the dry side and is a fun place if the wet conditions don't cooperate. Best of all, it is relatively inexpensive and if the conditions aren't good, there is no boat to cancel. I think Heisler Beach (http://www.lagunapages.com/beach/heisler/heisler.asp/) could be an excellent choice.

All sounds good to me!

Not much kelp worth speaking of at Heisler, but it's still a nice dive.

yes, but the reef goes on for quite a while ... more than you can see with an HP100 (without scooter .... or simulator)

Is there someplace I can drag my camp trailer near by?

You could try the Dana Point state park or the San Onofre one. If you opt for San Onofre, pick the sites in San Mateo.

They are not that "near" to Laguna Beach but are affordable (if you can find a spot!)

If you have extra cash .... then try the Dunes in Newport Beach.

Alberto

It might be worthwhile planning on two locations - weekend driving from Santa Barbara-LA to Laguna Beach is a bear.
