Same experience. Thought I was being choked out the first time I put it on. Then I just wore it around the house for half an hour and it was fine. Wasn't a problem in the water at all.
I had the opposite experience. I had worn it around without a problem till getting ready for first dive. Didn't pass put but was seeing spots. Trimmed it and zero problems since

One of my hard and fast rules is to never trim a silicone neck seal, established right after breaking a trimmed seal moments before a dive, at least wait for the spares to come. I also now use the waterproof neoprene neck seal which is a big improvement. No need to stitch anything on the crotch strap

And you can dive the suit while waiting for the part, I’m surprised how often I forget to snap mine together.
I trim pretty much every neck seal. My neck is bigger than normal. Without the trim, there are all kinds of issues. I dove with it untrimmed four or five time and then trimmed it. It was a huge improvement. With a normal neck size, silicon seals wouldn't need trimming. They are plenty flexible and stretchy.

Switch to neoprene, enjoy life ;)

The neo is awesome.. but the downside is I'll get a trickle every now and again. I don't really notice until I get out though. I'm too busy enjoying the warmth, lol

Hello everyone, I’m only on page 200 so far, but am already excited so have a few questions.

I have extremely wide feet. If a shoe/boot comes sufficiently wide (EEEE+) I wear a 10 but most footwear (e.g. my dirt bike boots or FE wetsuit booties) I have to wear a 12. Are the crushed neo socks at all stretchy so I could order size 10 equivalent, or should I state that I’m a 12?

Does anyone have pics of a black suit with orange stitching? I wish they offered orange sleeves or zip cover because black/orange is my jam!

I still have much more research to do on dry gloves but am between the Kubi and the SiTech ovals with Rolock 90. Quick question – why do the kubis offer different ring sizes (80,90mm etc.) but no such spec required for the SiTech ovals with Rolock 90?

Oh, and do all dry glove systems use equalization tubes?

One more on gloves – I can find the extra spare seals (silicone) for the SiTech ovals, but cannot for the life of me find the spare silicone seals for the Kubi system. Are they the same part?

About my only real indecision is whether to opt for one of the warm neck options or not? I plan to also add a neo neck seal that I can swap as required for warmth on the Quick Neck system.

As of now, my build plan is:

Nova Membrane Dry Suit

Body Colour – Grey Arm Colour – Black Stitching Colour - Black

Fully Telescopic Torso

Allowance for extra thick undersuits

Main Body Dry Zip Cover – Zip flap colour: Red

YKK Plastic Dry Zip fitted into membrane drysuit

Light Monkey "Tinkle" Balanced P-Valve Fitted to Seaskin Drysuit

Pee Valve Hose Tidy

Quick Neck system with Silflex seal – Seal colour: Black (I plan to also add a neo neck seal that I can swap as required for warmth)

UNDECIDED – warm neck option or not ???

SiTech Oval Cuff Rings (Siflex seals) – Seal Colour: Black

Move Dump (DIR)

SITech Valve System (including hose)

Inflation Valve Comfort Patch

Compressed Neoprene Socks

Kevlar Knee Pads – NO logo

PU Back Pad

PU Shoulder Reinforcement

Increase Braces width to 40mm

Name Badge

NO Logos on Suit

Change Mat Drysuit Bag Upgrade

Seaskin-Braces Pocket for 40mm elastic

Expedition Pocket – Left thigh outside seam

Expedition Pocket – Right thigh outside seam

Eezycut Trilobite on Right Pocket

Look in this thread, I posted a picture when I got my suit, it's all black with orange stitching. Orange is subtle, so it does not really scream at you

EDIT: To save you the trouble, here is the post:

EDIT #2: looking at my pictures I thought that stitching looks kinda redish.......I did order red stitching, sorry for confusion.
Quick question – why do the kubis offer different ring sizes (80,90mm etc.) but no such spec required for the SiTech ovals with Rolock 90?
Round rings are bulkier than ovals, so Kubi tries to give you an option regarding your hand size. Oval rings, you can't really squish them any more than they are on small axis, big axis does not feel that bulky anyway.

You can use something else or cut the seals out, but you do need equalization. I use a piece of bungee, with knoted end positioned in the middle of my palm, so I can sort of pull the cord from under the seal if I get glove puncture.

Seals are all the same.

Kubis use their own glove rings. Since Rolock90 fit into the one-size Oval suit-side rings, they aren't variable. It also means you have a couple other glove systems you could choose without having to modify the suit, but IMO Rolock 90 are pretty much the best glove system for the "oval" rings (even though they aren't oval).

Any dry glove system with removable gloves that retains the wrist seals would need some type of equalization. You can use tubes, a piece of licorice, a length of string, whatever. Personally, I just leave the thumb loops from my undergarment hooked over my thumbs and that does the trick as well.

You're going to be happy with or without. I anticipated I was going to use neoprene removable neck seals and figured the warm neck might just be some extra bulk so I opted out. The little bit of extra bouyancy toward the head might actually be a plus when diving doubles, just like a thicker hood can help with trim. I don't really regret omitting the warm neck, but I could go either way, and might put it on my next suit out of curiousity.

Ahh yes - I think it was your post that brought the orange(red) stitching to my attention. It is quite subtle - thanks for the confirmation.

Clever idea on the "removable" equalization bungee in case of glove flood!

Ahh, yes. Strawberry Twizzler it is then! ;-)

Just to be 100% clear - when you add the Rolock90, you actually lose the oval shape, no? So they end up round in the end? Anyone know what size kubi ring the Rolock90 end up being closes too in size (I guess what I am thinking is, if I can get my hand therough a kubi that is smaller than the Rolock90 I would go Kubi, otheriswe I wil go Rolock90.

My thinking is very similar to yours on the warm neck - surely not a huge deal either way.

Cheers.

if you would have guessed 90mm, you would only have been off by 1.36
