Rules are for the guidance of wise men and the obedience of foolsDouglas Bader
This reminds me of the Greek word νόμος. In Greek-English dictionaries, it translates to "suggestion." @mariosx will confirm.

Meh, life is pretty boring without joy and anger.
Isn't joy going from horny to tired and anger being horny for too long? 🤔

no they are just decisions that are made without expectation from an agency or instructor bias
What situation do you feel it’s safer to dive solo?
And when/where would you not run a line?

sounds like another rule to me
Not a rule, but it seems like a few people are dogging gue with absolutely zero experience or they're only experience is what a friend told them or they heard at a dive site. So yeah, if you don't have direct experience, then you probably shouldnt comment. I've intentionally taken tech classes from many agencies and instructors because I like to make judgments based on experience and also believe even if a class sucks I'll probably still glean one useful tidbit.

So did you actually know that Haclyon is not required? You didn't answer

What situation do you feel it’s safer to dive solo?
When you want to cave dive and all your regular buddies are busy and everytime you instabuddy with someone (including with people recommended by people you respect) who is more dangerous to have on a dive than a full stage bottle. If I don't think you can help me in an emergency, its probably safer to rely on myself and a stage

What situation do you feel it’s safer to dive solo?
Whenever on a boat where my options are either to dive solo or with unknown players.

Good points if that’s your risk appetite

I’ve heard it called “the handshake,” but an s drill/valve drill in the shallows with someone you don’t know will tell you a decent amount about how they’re gonna be in the cave

If they get offended and refuse when it’s suggested, you can bet they probably won’t be a huge help in an ooa or failure situation
