The PCR test were considerably more money. That test wasn’t a requirement.
It is if you're going to Canada.

Yes indeed, the PCR test is not cheap! Prices I have seen in Coz range from 1999 pesos to 2500 pesos.
A lady I know on FB who handles donations to several charitable causes on the island just posted on a Cozumel group: "Corner of 11 and 65. No appt needed. Results emailed in 30 min. Antigen was $30 usd, pcr was $60"

A friend went by the International Hospital Tuesday afternoon and was charged $450 MXN for an Antigen test, he was not sure if this is their new normal price or if it was discounted because he is a permanent resident.

Interesting. I can easily travel to 11 and 65, but is there a name/address available? What FB page might this information appear on?

TIA

They are on thesouth west corner of 65Ave and calle 11 (Quintana Roo Ave) facing 11th. Small office attached to a clinic?

I believe they are open until 7 PM and they will email you your results or you can go back and get a hard copy. For the Antigen tests they were gentle on me.
Their website is: MARKO TEST<>ZONE

Thank you @gopbroek this is very helpful.

Got my PCR results emailed to me this morning: negative.:yeahbaby:

The following info might be helpful for Canadian travellers (and parts of Europe) who require a negative PCR test prior to boarding their flight back home.

* I took the test at the International Hospital on Calle 5 for 1499 pesos, with a turnaround of 24 hours for results. Currently, they administer the PCR test from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. daily. I took the test at 7:15 a.m. and got my results next day, shortly after 10 a.m. Also, picked up a hardy copy after receiving my email notification of results.

* The MARKO Test Zone referenced in an earlier post above has the shortest turnaround of 12 hours, but their latest appointment is 7:40 p.m. as they close at 8 p.m. The cost quoted for PCR was 1800 pesos. If you are in a serious time crunch, this might be the best option.

* I was shopping @ Los Cinco Soles earlier in the week and on my stroll back along the Melgar I inquired at a farmcia re their Covid testing protocols for PCR. I was advised they would administer the test outside of the mandated 72-hour window, adjust the date and time of the test result so it tees up with the 72-hour window, and the cost would be 1900 pesos. I did not initiative a request for that flexibility--it was forthcoming from the gentleman I spoke with.

Very grateful to have enjoyed diving 2 wonderful weeks in Coz.

Cool! I'm thinking about a December trip. I wonder if I can go ahead and get my test now with them?

I am seeing multiple places on the island to get tested. Has anybody personally or heard of some of the tests being rejected or not accepted at the airport due to being more obscure than the main hospital testing sites?
