Got my PCR results emailed to me this morning: negative.
The following info might be helpful for Canadian travellers (and parts of Europe) who require a negative PCR test prior to boarding their flight back home.
* I took the test at the International Hospital on Calle 5 for 1499 pesos, with a turnaround of 24 hours for results. Currently, they administer the PCR test from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. daily. I took the test at 7:15 a.m. and got my results next day, shortly after 10 a.m. Also, picked up a hardy copy after receiving my email notification of results.
* The MARKO Test Zone referenced in an earlier post above has the shortest turnaround of 12 hours, but their latest appointment is 7:40 p.m. as they close at 8 p.m. The cost quoted for PCR was 1800 pesos. If you are in a serious time crunch, this might be the best option.
* I was shopping @ Los Cinco Soles earlier in the week and on my stroll back along the Melgar I inquired at a farmcia re their Covid testing protocols for PCR. I was advised they would administer the test outside of the mandated 72-hour window, adjust the date and time of the test result so it tees up with the 72-hour window, and the cost would be 1900 pesos. I did not initiative a request for that flexibility--it was forthcoming from the gentleman I spoke with.
Very grateful to have enjoyed diving 2 wonderful weeks in Coz.
