Florida folks:

If you drive to Lauderdale-by-the-sea is it a rich shore dive or just a fun diversion when you do not have a whole day to spend on a dive boat? Driving from North Broward. Easy to find the reef with a short swim?

Thanks

The reef lines are not hard to find. It’s worth the trip (my two cents). I’m hoping to make it back down later this year.

Reef is easy to find and close to shore
Limited parking on Datura Ave. We enjoy this dive, check the surf report with magic seaweed or another surf report for commercial pier.

Yes, just go east and it's nearly impossible to miss. It's a good dive, when the viz is good.

I've never done it just because the parking is a pain. I'm typically diving solo so running the drop-one-person-off-with-the-gear-and-then-park process doesn't work for me. I'd sure like to give it a try someday. Now that I'm not living on the southeast coast fulltime also makes it tough. But I do hear it is definitely worth it!

I've been to Lauderdale-by-the-sea, it's worth a trip.
Another place, maybe not so well known, is Vista Park. A few miles south, down the road. Huge tract of large gorgonians and a reef to the SE that has acropora and staghorn in as little as ten feet.

If in the area, you can stop by Aquí Water Sports. @LandonL and his dive shop business partner (Ryan Custureri) are in the water all the time and can give you some local insight.

Thanks! I might try it this weekend.
