Ok, I know that the airlines will do whatever they want with customers and their allegiance is to stockholders; big corporations are that way. I try to remind myself to get polite with the employees I encounter even when things go wrong, but it can be a challenge at times. I don't want to be the path of least resistance to one not holding up the company's obligations. Often times I don't know if the agent doesn't know or just isn't bothering.

I know that all airlines have their episodes but in the past several months I haven't seen any big complaints about United whereas I am seeing repeated complaints about American.

I've had to deal with both of them over the last 6+ months, and my experience is the same; I haven't always been happy with United's decisions but felt like they tried to do the right thing.
American seemed to put the most effort into toileting on my shoes.

United only flies to Cozumel one day a week nowadays. You might see more for other destinations.

Alas, Continental Airlines!
An airline I miss. I flew them to boot camp in 1967, as far as Houston in 2001 then got caught on Roatan Island on 9-11 with a Honduran airline (that got interesting but when we made it back to Houston, Continental took care of us), and when I escaped Cozumel in advance of catastrophic Hurricane Dead expected to hit soon - they sent at least one empty plane to Cancun to rescue customers, mine.

Take A Chance Airline?

Take A Chance Airline?

Your Take A Chance comment reminded me of an airline I once flew. A few decades ago I was on a charter package with some random American tour operator to Cancun for Spring Break When we got the airport , there was a random little paper sign saying everyone who booked with our American tour operator was now flying Aeroejecutivo

Aeroejecutivo translates into executive air in Spanish but I spoke no Spanish at the time so my eyes translated it into “Air eject ! “ Could never get “Air eject !” out of my head.

Airline lived down to my translation (with help from a bunch of drunk spring breakers ). We left a few hours late and there were people standing in the aisles drinking when the wheels touched down in Cancun

Just to be clear , if there is still an Aeroejecutivo out there somewhere I am sure they are fine (and probably no relation to the airline from decades ago ). Continental was no picnic at the time either btw. They had a Continental Express regional turboprop break apart near La Grange, Texas (not that far from me ) in 1991 because some idiot mechanics had left 47 screws out of the airframe when they were doing some maintenance over a shift change Why worry about having parts left over when servicing an aircraft ?

From many years ago, there was TTA - Trans Texas Airways, aka TreeTop Airlines and Tinker Toy Airlines.
