I ordered two of them.
I think when they suddenly get orders from a dozen people that they may notice that something is up. I couldn't resist tho. I'll wait for a few weeks, then I expect to file a dispute.

Yeah paypal is infamous for that. Not that bad when you're a consumer using paypal as a middle man. I've heard of businesses foolish enough to treat paypal like a bank. Then, when paypal decided arbitrarily to close their account all the money in that account is forfeited. Some stories I've read claim that paypal stole hundreds of thousands in this manner.
I recently had to order something from a distributor who only takes Paypal. I only keep a couple of credit cards, and both were connected to that frozen account, but I was able to bypass logging in and send a debit card payment thru. I can't imagine trusting Paypal to hold funds, but I guess it seems convenient to some. The only money they ever held for me was my 2% credit card rebates and then only for a few minutes. Their notice says "Any money in your balance will be held for 180 days, after which we’ll send you an email with instructions about transferring your money." We'll see as there are a few bucks held up there.

I don't use my Paypal Mastercard anymore, but I'm leaving it active as I had a prepaid hotel stay there. I recently canceled that hotel, booked a different one on the card, and I'll finish it up after I see if I get to take that July trip or not. If I have to totally bail, then I'll use it to liquidate those credits, then cancel it. I have a Citibank 2% rebate card coming.

You have a much higher tolerance for wider potential financial exposure from scams than myself.

coatien.club's address "1926 South 67th Street, Suite 250, Omaha, Nebraska 68106" belongs to an advertising firm "Ervin & Smith". But this address has been repeatedly stolen by a list of "pop up" scam webstores.

There must be some percentage of transactions where these fake webstores keep the cash, and either the buyer, the bank or the credit card company is left out of pocket. Otherwise it wouldn't be worth their while. We should all be financially vigilant. The prices are too good to be true. Literally!

Yeah, it may well be a dumb game, but I'm playing with someone else's money with no risk. I just discovered the listing, mentioned it, but didn't order until someone else said they did. Then the impulse happened.

Past year has been an eye opener for many divers including myself. With a significant investment in PLB and it's carrier, we can be safer divers as well as potentially saving the lives of responders during a crisis.

It's awfully expensive, though. I think I'd prefer to improvise with what I have if drifting at sea. As long as I could generate a spark somehow, it seems like by farting into my drysuit and then venting the nitrox/methane mix from the exhaust valve, I could flare off that gas as a distress signal. For free.

In that case, that is exactly what you should do. Please.

One member here has messaged me that he got a shipping notice with tracking from overseas. I suspect that ACR PLBs are made overseas, and it's possible that someone obtained some with USA code, but I have to wonder - including how they got them.

My order still shows as Processing so I went ahead and filed a dispute.

Has that worked for others? Who saw it? How did they get the spark at sea?

No doubt, Paula gets his from that light in his eye.

Interesting ... I'm curious to see how this turns out.

If the other member paid by PayPal, the merchant can only collect on "shipping" . On eBay stuff is marked as shipped long before it moves.

I think I'll do the same. I sent them several emails and got no responses. Oh well. Win some, lose some.

I think it's worse than that. I recently sold something on ebay, and I've had the account for at least 10 years. I couldn't collect until the buyer confirmed receipt of the item. It really turned me off of ebay/paypal as a seller (again, I don't know how many times I have to learn that lesson).
