I can not say enough about how amazing is Shearwater customer support. I have had my Teric for 3 months when I received two system errors within 3 days. Coincidentally, I would had been on a dive trip that week but corona thing cancelled my trip. I called shearwater and while Teric was still working well , they sent a brand new replacement unit all within 1 week. They did not want to take a chance of the unit not functioning properly in the future. They were so awesome, (and I love my Teric anyways)that I feel like they won me over for life! Can not wait to see what their future products bring.
Great product, great company. Way to go Shearwater!
 
I have a Perdix. No trouble with it. Once I received it I contacted Shearwater with some questions and they replied right away.
They do have really good customer service.
 
Everybody likes good customer service, but the Teric seems to require a lot of it.

To preface, I have a Perdix AI and love it.

Given all the Teric issues I have read and heard about (what feels like regularly), I’ve been quite surprised about how understanding people have been with all the issues. Some people have even had repeated issues and at inopportune times. Shearwater has always taken care of issues quickly and professionally without fuss which is awesome. However, I sometimes ask myself how it would play out if all the issues happened in a dive computer with a different company. I think their customer service speaks volumes and really helps move the needle but at the same time, I wonder if people would be nearly as forgiving about it if it were with another brand, even with the same customer service level. I can’t help but think the tone would be very different and that all this is actually a great reflection of the brand and following they have built through customer service and what has historically been an output of solid and reputable products.
 
I think you're correct, with another brand there would have been a public stoning.

This must be starting to hit their bottom line a bit too

Several of my friends have the Teric and no issues.

Basically I bought the Perdix after my Sunnto Pressure sensor shat itself and Suunto would not repair it. Anyways I had seen the Perdix and I am like damn, can see it so easily in any visibility on a dive. I like to do a lot of night diving. Glad I bought it.

Exactly...

Having a bug free device...regardless of what that device is...scuba or otherwise...is a lot better than getting to know the manufacturers service/repair department staff by their first name...regardless of how ''good'' they are...

Maybe the service /repair department should switch places with those doing the manufacturing and assembling...

I have never had a dive computer...or any other dive related product for that matter that had to go back to the manufacturer to repair/replace defects/deficiencies...and I've been diving since 1980...

Had a perdix AI, 30 days after getting the Teric I sold it because I knew I would never use it again, no regrets the Teric is the perfect format for me, had the battery issue, SW doesn’t make the battery so can’t got to worked up over that, the last time I asked that they don’t replace it, just change the battery, they did and the pressure sensor too because some had problems with those. The turn around is amazingly fast. I bought a second one because it’s so damn assume, it will be a long time before I even consider a new primary computer.
