Waterproof did not have the Ultima soft dry glove system at their booth when I talked with them. They did have 10-12 boxes of the regular Ultima DGS systems. I order a set of the ultima soft rings from TUSA, the US distributor when I got back.

I briefly installed and then removed the system from my slaggo. The way they attached did not seem sufficiently robust for me.

They seem to be however, the only off the shelf system curently available for the slaggo system.

I ended up removing the slaggo system completely and installed a modified sitech quick cuff and rolock system, which I am very happy with.

An issue that I was not prepared for, is that the slaggo clips damage the silicone seals. When silicone seals get a puncture in them, they are toast.

I think Si-tech created a good system with their QCP round and QCS oval wrist cuff system but perhaps have pushed the envelope too far with their slaggo cuff system. The clips damaging the seal (per your report) is definitely problematic but they also represent a piece of the system that is easily lost or damaged upon removal. I believe Si-tech made this product in response to divers complaining that the other cuff systems were bulky, rigid, and got in the way when doing things like valve drills, but this design took things a bit too far perhaps. The ease of replacing the seal seems like a good thing but at the expense of the silicone seals I would not want a system that inherently can only be installed once, if I need to make an adjustment to the position due to whatever reason I don't want to have to replace the seal entirely.

Si-tech has also missed the mark with respect to developing gloves for their system. There are 2 reasons to go with a si-tech cuff system: 1) to be able to take adavantage of user/field replaceable seals, and 2) to have an integrated glove system. The fact that it is now mid-december and a product has not been advertised/released yet means that those who continue to dive during the late autumn and winter months have most likely already purchased a replacement system or avoided buying a suit with the slaggo cuffs altogether. The Christmas shopping season is well underway and there is nothing for one to consider purchasing at the moment, there is no indication of a compatible product on the Si-tech website...clearly a sign that Si-tech has missed the mark with their Slaggo cuff product.

Do you still have the Ultima Soft set?

In case someone is interested, Si-Tech is now showing around fairs the dry gloves system for Slaggo which is called "Neva".
So far only pictures, no real examples and not for sale. I understand it is still under development/production.
From the pictures it seems to be extremely simple, just a glove with latex seal going over the Slaggo rings.

Hi I've just bought the samensuit with the same slaggo cuffs how do the ultima ring fit onto the suit? As I'm gping to purchase some aswell
It's a two part product. One set of rings fits on the current wrist seal rings and the gloves are fitted on the other set. They then click together to form the seal.

Are they easy to install?
The wrist ring is easy to install, you follow the manual's instructions to remove the clips and existing seal and install the seal/ring assembly from the ultima kit with plenty of lube and conscient pressure all around. For the glove fitting to the ring (remember they don't come with gloves), latex gloves is a very simple fit, other types my require a lot of time and effort and possibly simple tools despite some people making it look very easy! Anyway, check this video for the straightforward process and if you're into a good chat about gloves I really enjoyed my 720s feeling my way in 0 viz in a recent sea dive, and learned all about it here Ultima Dry Glove System question

Fitting the gloves on the glove-side rings can be challenging at first until one figures out an installation method that works for them.

I made a wooden jig like the one in one of the videos in the long discussion thread: Ultima Dry Glove System question

There are some things that one can do to make installation of the gloves easier:

1. Heat up some water and soak the black glove retaining o-rings for a few minutes, then pre-stretch the o-rings to "loosen" them up.
2. Pre-stretch the cuff of the glove by pushing the glove side ring into the cuff and let it sit...or take a wood clamp/spreader and insert it into the glove to stretch the glove cuff and let that sit for a bit.
3. Think less about stretching and "pulling" the o-ring into place, and more about pushing/sliding the o-ring into place as if mounting the last part of a bicycle tire.

One thing that has helped me is to start mounting the glove and then I use I use the rounded edge of my workbench to keep the glove and o-ring in place in the groove on the ring, then while pushing the assembly against the edge of the work bench I maul the glove and o-ring with my fingers to push it over and around the ring into place.

Don't worry about things being lined up. Once the glove and o-ring are mounted, take a spray bottle with some water and dish soap and spray around the outside at the cuff-ring junction, get nice and wet...this will allow the glove cuff to slide more easily as you tug it into position from inside the ring to line it up how you want it and remove an wrinkles/overlap caused during the installation process.

The first time I mounted my SHOWA gloves on the glove-side rings it took me over an hour and my fingers were sore for a couple of days....but I was trying to stretch and pull the o-ring and glove over the glove rings.
