Waterproof did not have the Ultima soft dry glove system at their booth when I talked with them. They did have 10-12 boxes of the regular Ultima DGS systems. I order a set of the ultima soft rings from TUSA, the US distributor when I got back.
I briefly installed and then removed the system from my slaggo. The way they attached did not seem sufficiently robust for me.
They seem to be however, the only off the shelf system curently available for the slaggo system.
I ended up removing the slaggo system completely and installed a modified sitech quick cuff and rolock system, which I am very happy with.
An issue that I was not prepared for, is that the slaggo clips damage the silicone seals. When silicone seals get a puncture in them, they are toast.
I think Si-tech created a good system with their QCP round and QCS oval wrist cuff system but perhaps have pushed the envelope too far with their slaggo cuff system. The clips damaging the seal (per your report) is definitely problematic but they also represent a piece of the system that is easily lost or damaged upon removal. I believe Si-tech made this product in response to divers complaining that the other cuff systems were bulky, rigid, and got in the way when doing things like valve drills, but this design took things a bit too far perhaps. The ease of replacing the seal seems like a good thing but at the expense of the silicone seals I would not want a system that inherently can only be installed once, if I need to make an adjustment to the position due to whatever reason I don't want to have to replace the seal entirely.
Si-tech has also missed the mark with respect to developing gloves for their system. There are 2 reasons to go with a si-tech cuff system: 1) to be able to take adavantage of user/field replaceable seals, and 2) to have an integrated glove system. The fact that it is now mid-december and a product has not been advertised/released yet means that those who continue to dive during the late autumn and winter months have most likely already purchased a replacement system or avoided buying a suit with the slaggo cuffs altogether. The Christmas shopping season is well underway and there is nothing for one to consider purchasing at the moment, there is no indication of a compatible product on the Si-tech website...clearly a sign that Si-tech has missed the mark with their Slaggo cuff product.
