So where should we keep the knife if not in our luggage? Should I have it on my person going through customs?
I thought we were talking about the hotel. The issue is carrying it on your person, which the hotel is preventing while on their premises.
I normally carry a Buck lock blade folding knife on my belt, don't usually think much about it, but times change and I now have to watch where I'm going, in some places in the US a knife is considered a weapon rather than a tool.
Planning a trip to see my daughter in the UK, I found out my Buck knife was a prohibited weapon right up there with switch blades, gravity knifes, butterfly knifes, and so on, not to mention that you can not carry any knife without a proper reason. Sounds like the Philippines have similar laws.
