Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone here has ever had the legs of their drysuit narrowed — especially below the knees.

I'm considering modifying my suit to reduce excess air around the lower legs. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s had this kind of custom work done.

- Did it improve your trim or buoyancy control?
- How tight was the fit?
- Any regrets or issues afterward?

Thanks in advance for your input!

Get gaiters
100%. Subgravity makes some inexpensive gaiters, and places like DRIS carry them. If using gaiters on you calves does exactly what you want, great! If at some point in the distant future you have your drysuit in for new boots, then that might be the time to have them take a little extra material of the lower legs.

I wouldn't do surgery on the suit when you could just use gaiters instead.

Yeah, I guess you’re right. Thanks for the advice.
