Do you have any equipment buying regrets ? What equipment did you buy and realized afterwards you had made a mistake ? Why was it a mistake ?

I once bought the wrong size pipe fittings for a rebreather build.

It sucked, I wasted nearly 6$ and I've not found a good use for them yet.

I've not regretted any other equipment purchase. Some I use, some loan out, some resold. It's all good.

...I extremely rarely purchase new, and never on impulse or under pressure.

Currently, constantly searching for student loaner gear these past few years so it is even more enjoyable purchasing gear to be enjoyed by others. And the perfect excuse for even more equipment.

Stahlsac mesh duffel was hard to use as a backpack or over-the-shoulder duffel. Replaced it with an XS Scuba Mesh Wheeled Duffel which was a huge improvement.

Plenty of neoprene products. Gloves, hoods especially. Tough to find good neoprene. Replaced with K01 hoods and Scubapro seamless gloves.

Air integrated computer. Almost immediately outgrew it. Normal brass and glass SPG is what’s up.

Liquivision Xen. Great interface, terrible quality. Shearwater rocks.

The poodle jacket my wife bought me, it put off a BP/W purchase for almost five years. I dive on a budget so I have plenty of time to think out a purchase before I have the cash to buy. I buy a lot of second hand gear so it's hard to go wrong, and harder for me to get upset about it.

I have some funny stories, just bought three old reg sets so I could scavenge the SPG's to replace some '70's gear that went bad. All three reg sets worked well right out of the box.
