I decided to build a bcd flush line for myself, went online and didn't find much besides the premade $25 options. I think it's a bit much for something so simple. And building stuff is fun. The couple diy I came by seemed like they were putting too much thought into holding pressure, so here you go with a quick and simple.
I ended up with a spare low pressure hose, so that was free. I ended up running to lowes to get the right sized nut and a hose cap. I have roughly 42 bilion loose nuts and bolts of every size, except the one I actually needed so I had to go buy 1 single solitary nut. Which is irritating.

Anyway 1 hose, 1 garden hose cap and 1 nut. The nut needed is a metric 10x1.25.

Drill a 3/8 hole through the center of the cap, clean off any burrs.

This is what a hole looks like. This is a very thorough walk through of a very simple build... :)

A dab of silicone to seal everything up.

And lastly a nut.

Let the silicone cure before testing and bam you're done. 5 minutes including finding the right drill bit and taking time for pictures. If my garage wasn't a mess I think I had all the parts, but for a couple bucks I don't feel like spending hours digging for the right sized nut. Going with a nut instead of some of the other methods makes the whole thing reusable in case I really need the hose in the future.

Sure this isn't easier than just using the garden hose, but half the reason for hobbies is building gadgets :)

I’ll take one. How’s $6.00? Nice diy!

Thanks :) if I had a bunch of old hoses laying around I'd say $10 (gotta pay for all the r&d somehow :) ) but I had exactly 1

your making a big mistake - what you should be doing is opening a fasteners shop with your 42 billion parts

Very imaginative, I think I'll have to copy it. Re the nut thread pitch, a low pressure hose fitting is 3/8-24, so metric, while it seems to work fine, should not be required.

I own both NPS 3/8-24 and 7/16-20 taps. Easy enough to make a nut for that. I like that you have it click onto the fitting rather than simply fit over the nipple. Good job! Tobin sells a plastic device that leaks a bit, but it works. I don't know if he's re-opened yet.

Fun fact, I love tools way too much. So I'm thinking about making this adapter on a lathe and my first thought was what the NPS thread on a hose bib would be. Imagine that, it's a 3/4-14, just like an AL80, so I already have the tap. Kewl. I'm going to think this through!

Very well made!
I'm a big fan of DIY projects, especially when it comes to diving (i just wish i was better with my hands) and i think i might have a crack at building one my self.

Lets hope it works as well as yours lol

I'll take your word for it. I too it with me to lowes and screwed it into their find the right bolt displays and that one felt right. I assumed it would be metric, didn't try a standard. :)

So that means I can just thread a garden hose right into my tank for a post dive wash, right?
