It's still a long way away and it's just called "nine" at this point, but the National Hurricane Center shows a disturbance that is forecast to become a hurricane by Tuesday and headed right for the Caribbean. It bears watching.

Looks like it is named Isaac now. Hopefully it doesn't get bad.

Yep the national Hurricane center has recognized it as Isaac. Hopefully, for Cozumel, it will hook north next week but I also do not wish this on the folks who were devastated last year.

Last year at this time we were in Key Largo helping our buddies secure boats before Irma. Sure don't want to see another storm hit the Keys. Of course I don't want it to hit Cozumel, Louisiana or Texas or anywhere else either. Hurricanes suck!

Long ways out and there is a TD forming right SE of Cozumel. Would be keeping an eye on that vs Isaac at this point.

I've been watching that one as well but it is unlikely to be anything more than a rain event for Cozumel. Once it crosses into the Gulf, though, who knows?

There’s a lot of warm water between it’s current location and the Yucatán. Hope for the best! I’m heading there on the 22nd.

Still a week away and a lot can change, still planning on heading down this weekend for a dive fix. It's been 7 weeks too long and I am jonesing.

If I'm reading it correctly next Tuesday it'll be picking up right about the time the morning two-tank dive is over. Is that right? Wednesday might be another story. I'm booked for October so I'll get to miss this storm :)
