Refunded! Artificial ‘Gills’ Scam Comes Clean

Don't worry--they immediately came back with an even less likely technology and began the scam anew, amassing a quarter of a million dollars since April 1 and still going. It's been debunked again, but it seems there's a bottonless supply of people that want to be scammed. Their latest doctored video can be seen on youtube--the intitial comments were quite a hoot.

All of their "technology" is included in the new Indiegogo campaign link I posted on page 15. I don't understand how people are falling for this again and again.

They are developing their own shipping company with their own air freight forwarder ... and will negotiate regulation agreements at the next G20. Several heads of states (and of IATA) will get a free triton (black ops version) for this. They are in discussion with frozen food companies also.
Airbus and Boeing are waiting in line to sell planes.

Probably easier to accomplish than some of the others things they are proposing.

They are after a particular group of people. In their Facebook page when I started posting about it's impossibility based on SAC rates and the volume of the actual device I was "tolerated" and my post stayed up. When they switched to the LOX scam I again posted that even if the entire device was made from LOX only it will still be impossible, it was still "tolerated". These posts involved some basic math and and principles like Boyle's law. When I posted this video which explained the problem in very simple terms, I was booted out and my posts deleted. They are clearly after those who are ignorant, incapable of, or refuse to think critically for themselves, so it might be nearly impossible to warn these people off.

They responded to someone asking what mix of gasses the user will breath : "(...) for the gases it is oxygen that you will breathe in, (...)"
So, basically, they put oxygen cans in the device to retrieve some more oxygen (from the water) or to complement it.
But even if we add those two sources together, they aren't covering a human's needs during 45 minutes (not nearly, given the handles size).

The question is why is Indiegogo not shutting this campaign down ?
1- They want people to understand what scam is ? (leveraging people the hard way ?)
2- They don't care. They want their share (partners in crime).
3- They're playing with those guys : they use them to create a (bad) buzz only to demonstrate how they will stop the mascarade at the end ?
4- They want new laws against their business ? (or to be shut down themselves ?)

Some one should ask how the customers are supposed to keep the LOX canisters refrigerated after delivery : do they have a specific packaging that isolates LOX from heating during several months ? Is the packing's cost included in the 20$ price of the canisters ? What happens after that delay ?

Something I just noticed on their web site (not IGG pages) Tritongills

While they refer to the IGG site, the straight internet page does not refer to the "liquid oxygen" nonsense in any manner, shape, or form. It has remained unchanged as to content since the start.

Journalism > This media website title page says, "Triton's 'Artifical Gills' Are Real, but Don't Work as Advertised | Digital Trends". This is how it shows up in a Google search.

Drew Prindle says they did "a boat load of research" and basically never believed the artificial gills claim, but now he believes due to the video they are real.

As pointed out in the "Busted" YouTube video, unqualified science media outlets with zero qualifications who claim to be experts in science help perpetuate this bs.

Late last week, after scrubbing the $800,000 campaign, the Triton team launched a second, more honest campaign — complete with additional info on how it works, as well as an uncut 12-minute video of the mask being used in a pool. So in all fairness, it appears that the Triton scuba mask does indeed work — it just doesn’t work at all like the creators originally claimed.

According to the new campaign, the mask relies on a combination of filters andreplaceable liquid oxygen cartridges. Unfortunately Triton’s founders are holding back any further details about the technology because they’re worried about intellectual property theft, but the new video does suggest that the technology actually works, which is reassuring.

The downside, however, is that if this new information is true, it means that Triton users will need to purchase special liquid oxygen cylinders in order to use the mask. The company says its working on developing refillable cartridges, but until that happens, users will need to purchase two new cartridges for each 45 minute use. Depending on the price of these cartridges, using Triton on a regular basis could be pretty expensive.

I think Drew Prindle and Digital Trends need a bigger "research boat".

I would applaud with my two hands if Indiegogo gave a charitable organisation100% of the money. This would even be a kind of justice !
But the funny thing is that this would get them closer to jail than to give the scammers their loot and take their share.
