No all caps in my posts. Or rattled rants.

Doesn't matter, like your interpretation of me, that's my interpretation of you, so it must be true.

You misspelled Not, you must be rattled.

God, how dumb can all this get? :shakehead:

Let's get back to the topic, please post some more of your dive profiles to prove that since you've dived longer than 60 minutes every other diver who comes to Cozumel does too. Or let's talk about crutches and how more air makes bad divers, that was a good one.

... and on the 7th day, God created Aldora, and all was good in Cozumel...

I think that's going to be my new signature, what do you think?

Yes, skittly, now you're getting it. Keep going, you're almost there.

Diving with an op that limits by time is very different from diving with an op that uses AL80s and lets you dive your tank.
If dives are "well under an hour" because they limit by time- it doesn't matter what the tank was. They could give you steel 120s and limit by time, and you still get "well under an hour".

You're comparing apples to oranges.
If the average Cozumel dive is "well below an hour" it is because the larger ops set artificial limitations. It isn't because an 80 doesn't have enough air for an hour dive.

And I will say WOW to Dave posting a 2.5 hour dive, that wasn't at Columbia Shallow; but for ME- the thought of being underwater that long makes me queasy. The claustrophobia would set in and I'd be thumbing the dive. I think others who want super long bottom time will be happy I choose an op that sends pairs up together and not everyone at once, regardless of amount of air available. But seriously- how many 2.5 hour dives can you really do? Seems like NDLs are going to be a problem.

So chief....You say "I get so confused on this thread. So YOU are saying it isn't the size of the tank but the motion of the ocean?" My answer is Yes... And, IMMHO and experience, it is perfectly fine to be happy with what floats your boat ! And for what it's worth...I even chuckled after reading what you said....:chuckle:

Looks like it's time for the Moderator to step in and split off another thread - What shall we call this one, since it stopped being about AL80s vs. Steel 120s about 3 pages back?

Really???? 12 pages???

No one has touched on a issue with the 120 cu ft tanks. Note the position in this photo:

Do you realize how hard it is to go through swim throughs in this position? Now you can understand why I go around or over.

I like the 120 because with a little overfill you can end up with 140 and dive all day on one tank in shallow lakes. less trips to the fill station if any. The 120 is 2 80's when you figure in the "get out at 3-500 psi". Mopst people i know do not go through more than 2 80's in a day. they change tanks and i dont. and my 120 is still about -10 adn i have a +5 shorty on and 2-4# on a belt towards the end of the day.

As a side note, did you know the 120 steels are much better than the 100 AL if you are looking for a big tank on Coz because the fillers always short fill the 100AL.

Really???? 12 pages???

Oh, go into your settings and change the posts per page. You can get this one down to a manageable 3 pages. like 12 pounds of #$%^ in a 3 pound bag! :)
