Question for the trolls. I seem to remember something about one of the local dive shops offering discount rates at the Hilton Singer Island. Anyone know if this is true or is my mind once again making things up? If so could someone point me to the proper contact? Going to be in the area around Christmas this year and looking for a place to stay and really want to get a dive or two in on the bridge.

Most trolls live in the area, so they don't often track hotel rates!:D That said, THE Troll who does, Dan Volker; of South Florida Dive Journal has some info that may be useful to you! Google or look in the member list for Dan............Now and then, we do an overnight at BHB--and not with the homeless folks who may reside there!:dork2:

I have seen a place nearby on Singer Is called Sunshine Shores Resort that might be worth looking at further. I have passed by and it looks decent--but have not yet taken a look inside. It is not waterfront, but is just off the inlet. A 1br apt. low season is $100. according to their website.

81 degrees yesterday afternoon. Viz easily 30-40 ft, depending on where you were. Nice seeing a few regulars while gearing up!

I ended up doing two dives. After finishing a long solo zen dive I ran into Jenny in the p-lot. She wanted to show me "one quick thing." 30 minutes later we finally got out.

As for the first dive, I pulled HC and her friend out of last period of school so we could do some hands on marine biology and check the effects of compressed enriched air in a solution of dihydrogen monoxide and sodium. The result? Grins.
Oh, and a spotted eagle ray, a couple southern rays, batfish, that one thing I showed Jet later on, a nice sized pipefish, flying garnard, and the regular assortment of critters.

If I hadn't been warned, I would ask why you feel compelled to touch everything.
