Dear Mawg,

BTW, the best kept secret in all of Cozumel now is Pescadaria San Carlos. It is back in the hoods and only open until 5 pm but it has the best seafood you will find on the planet.

memo took me there once. loved the hogfish. btw on your earlier post, i thought the restaurants of the early 90's were not too shabby - el pique, los palmas, el moro. i still try to hit them on each coz trip.

my best story is of a gentleman whom I had the pleasure of divemastering for a couple of years ago. I smiled and nodded as he sat there with one of those Starbucks frappaccinos in his hand, reminiscing about the old days, and complaining about how commercialized the island has become.

Dear Mawg,

I sort of remember it, close to El Foco as I recall, but I have no special memories of the food. BTW, the best kept secret in all of Cozumel now is Pescadaria San Carlos. It is back in the hoods and only open until 5 pm but it has the best seafood you will find on the planet. That's all I'll say since I want to be able to get in for late lunches!

Thanks Dave. We'll try it when we get there this coming June. Can they handle a group of 9 or 10?

i remember the days in 1974 when there were two dive shops and 3 hotels; the dancing hippo was the only "club"; great memories
