HELP me pee...

sam, the sign larry & i use is the letter 't' in the asl fingerspelling alphabet. we thought about 'p' but thought it could be misread for 'line', so went with something that looks like someone peeing...

My friends use the ASL sign for the letter R ... not because it stands for anything in particular, but because it looks like you've got your legs crossed trying to hold it in ...

I relax on the SS and unload there. One of the reasons I never go barefoot on a boat.

While wearing a full wetsuit? Where does the Pee go???

Unless a diver opens his/her wet suit to catch water on the ladder and flush thru, much of it goes on the deck - and most divers don't have front zip suits, or just don't.

I carry a small bottle of pet urine neutralizer on trips to spray my suit. Helps.

I told my buddies that if I grab my crotch like the late Michael Jackson or point to my p-valve that meant I was gonna try to pee underwater.

I guess there isn't a command signal for peeing in the dive community.

Sam, if you can pee at the dock . . .

Can you pee standing up in water to your knees?

Then standing in water up to your p-valve?

Then standing in water up to your waist?

Perhaps 'easing in' to the situation will help.

I can pee standing or floating on the shoreline in the water, but not while submerged during a dive.

If you can pee on the dock, then just go to the lake, and start working on getting underwater. Pee standing ankle deep, then pee standing knee deep, and so on.

I can pee standing in water from ankle to chest height. I can float horizontal at the surface and pee, just cannot while I am underwater during a dive.

so, you can pee in chest deep water? stay negative and walk neck deep, then mid-face mask, etc.? It seems to me that if you can pee while effectively submerged, then you can pee while diving physiologically speaking. If that's true, then it's a psychological thing, so slowly working up to doing it should be at least one effective therapy.

My original post said I was MENTAL so yes it's a psychological thing. Was hoping to gleam from the experiences of any "shy bladders" in the dive community.
