Found your line today Pete, and the slate. It's really good practice following a line. Closed my eyes a while and just followed it. New stuff to me.

Viz is blowing me away. 50+ feet.

All that said, I was surprised and disappointed that after one dive at Vista Point, we decided to go to the county side of the lake, the entrance fees don't transfer over; had to pay another six bucks. Probably won't go to Vista again. Plenty of other great diving sites on the west side of the lake. Not hatin', just sayin'.

Dove Vista Point today, The weather was nice, and the water cool but not too cold in a 7mm. (57 degrees to about 30 ft, and 51-53 at 100ft)

Vis was good today, not the 50+ feet that I have read about but an honest 30+

On a side note, hauled out lots of garbage too. Bottles and trash. Some Big PVC squares that were anchored to the ground with bricks and hundreds of feet of line with arrows on it. I had to cut the line, as it went deeper than I cared to go today. Didn't have a lift bag so I had to leave some larger items tires etc.

Whatever dude.

Not so sure if that's the right place to write, but I didn't waqnt to open new thread.
Anyway, I'm looking for a buddy for this early morning coming Sunday (March27) in Pleasant.
I don't mind the place in Pleasant, and I don't mind the experience of the buddy.
One thing for sure: When help needed- I'll be there for you.
My phone no is: 978-429-6552.
Thanks, Gilad

How early is *your* early? :D

ffhamm,

You cut a primary guideline that was being used to support extended range dives beyond the recreational limit that required staged decompression. I wonder if it occurred to you that there might be someone on the other end of the line at depths where the vis is still likely zero. I wonder what you would have done if you had encountered our stage tanks or deco bottles. Would you have taken them? Perhaps that is the reason you perpetrated this action during the week rather than a weekend. Less likely to run into me or someone else using the line.

Notwithstanding that the line was clearly marked your actions could have injured or killed another diver.

PD...I'm pretty sure "Joe King" is joking. His entire post was a mockery of my post, and a joke on you. I'm fairly confident your lines are just fine. Not sure who he's trying to amuse besides himself. You make some good points about lines nonetheless.

Thanks milkmood,

I considered that he might be trolling. But its in such bad taste that I felt a clear response was necessary.

Joe,

You really shouldn't touch things that aren't yours and that you know nothing about.

As Pete stated, that line is used by tech & rebreather divers for extended range training beyond recreational scuba limits. You could've unknowingly endangered a diver further down the run with your supposed good intentions.

I think it's great that you want to help keep our lake clean, however it's pretty obvious what that line was there for if you knew what the arrows where used for OR if you were active in any of the local dive community meetings as it's been heavily discussed there.

Please stick to cleaning up loose trash floating on the bottom. If you see a line, leave it alone as it most likely has a purpose.

Relax, guys - I went to ffhamm by PM as soon as I saw the post (I was all :shocked2:), and he assured me he was joking.

Of course, if the lines are gone, count me in! :angrymob:
