Do you own and know how to use an SMB? If not, I'd place that at the very top of my list of things to do before diving in Coz.

As in shooting on a reel or spool from safety stop? A good idea for those of us who don't follow the DM closely, but most do.Do you own and know how to use an SMB? If not, I'd place that at the very top of my list of things to do before diving in Coz.

That is yet another reason to fill it at greater depth. When I am at 15' at the end of a dive, there is no air in my BC.Here's an SMB tip: If you have one that inflates from underneath with your octo, fill it with the air from your BC for starters. That way, you're only transferring air from one place to another, so your bouyancy won't change. Then fill it the rest of the way from your octo before launching it to the surface.
thinking of getting a finger spool because a reel seems too bulky to lug around.
they still sell those? how long is the rope attached?
