Yeah I have an urge to go back thru my last 200 posts to quote and thank some. It was a nice idea that some chose to abuse. The thanks button was one of the nice things that hooked me to this site. Now it's gone.
I can quote a comment and explicitelly say thank you, but it was a nice and useful way to appreciate a comment or thread.
Um, how about a "thumbs up" button AND a"thumbs down" button?
Damn - and I think I had the record for the most thanked post on SB.
Shallow Divers: The True Story of Two Americans who Risked Everything to Solve the Mystery of Every "You're Gonna Die!" Cliche on Scubaboard
Wish I had taken a screen shot of the 300+ thanks - including from John and Richie!
I'll miss it. I was using it as bookmarks. I would thank the posts I thought would be useful in the future and I could easily go find them.
Wow, who'da thought agreement with a POV or appreciation of a particular post or poster could be polarizing or unhealthy. That's kinda like saying a thread with 3 posts and 2 agree and one disagrees is polarizing and healthy. Will ditto, +1, agree, well said, my thoughts exactly,, thanks, etc. be considered polarizing? All that was done IMO, is; it makes lazy folk like me go a tad further instead of clicking a button. There may not be a tally, but the who, what, why, and when will still be visible. I do not understand, but I have been called dense before.
Ditto, +1, agree, well said, my thoughts exactly,I too was using it as a bookmark feature.
