Cozumel in July 2009

July 11-19 Park Royal, diving with SCUBAMAU. They are located beside Villa Blanca. Amazing dm's, great fast boats, water fruit, dont charge extra for Devil's Throat trip. They do it so you have longer bottom time at that dive. You go up rather than down. In other words you do the Devil's A$$. lol. Opa and Mau's place is like a bunch of friends diving together, thats what I like.

firstdive2005, cool, I'll be there the same days, also diving with Scuba Mau. Looking forward to diving with you! I'm on a girl's trip, so look out!

I booked our trip last Friday. We'll be at Villablanca 7/20-7/27. Haven't settled on a dive shop for this trip yet, but since I'm being budget conscience I'm still shopping around instead of going with the same place I've always gone with for more than a decade.

Have you stayed at the Villablanca before? It is one of the places I am considering staying at for a possible trip in late July.

Agree with Hamradiopaul. I was there May 8-12. It was beautifully quiet, though I did hate seeing all the closed shops and thinking about all the folks out of work. Stupid cruise lines. (That's right, take 'em to San Diego (with confirmed H1N1 cases) instead of Pacific Mex ports...)
All the beach clubs had to close, too. No business.
Hope things have turned around now!!!

Have you stayed at the Villablanca before? It is one of the places I am considering staying at for a possible trip in late July.

This will be my first time staying at Villablanca. I'm familiar with the area since I've stayed a block away at Casa Del Mar twice. I'm told that for the money, Villablanca is hard to beat if you get one of their "Superior Rooms" or better, but that the Standard rooms might leave a little to be desired. I guess it all depends on what you're going to Cozumel for. I'm going for the diving and I love exploring the countless really good restaurants. I don't spend much time in my room when I'm down there anyway.
