You know... one of my favorite lakes is right there: Lake Isis. Much nicer than Denton.

Never tried Lake Isis... I'm only over there a couple of times a year for rescue class. Since Highlands county closed the ramp, and the only lake access is through the youth camp behind he ramp, we're looking for another lake to use. I'll check out Lake Isis. Thanks, :palmtree: Bob.

I think Isis is closed to diving as well. Truly a shame. I don't think they like divers in Avon Park. :(

Walter, have you dove there since the hurricanes a few years back? There was very little left when I was there. Some people said the hurricanes destroyed it.

Nope. It's been several years since I've dived it.

Just about any freshwater dive that is not for fossils, manatees, float trip with friends+family or if it is easily accessible.

Jax to Vero...Lubrafol,City Services Empire,Gulf America,Arawak,Peconic and all the unknowns I get to dive not to mention the 100s of artificial reefs of which over a dozen are wrecks in excess of 200' long.

Yeah it sucks..like the time I saw a Great White underwater,or the Northern Right Whale,or the numerous molas, sand tigers, tigers, other rays+sharks of all kinds, jewfish blah blah blah

I hate having 5 inlets with an hours drive,a boat in my yard and more friends with boats than children.

Look at my gallery to see how the spearfishing here is.

Look where those posts are coming from... nothing wrong with salt water(or fresh, which is my point), but the people who list Ginnie are not exactly looking for freshwater dives. They simply want the salt.

That and I can see how the overwhelming crowds can turn someone off of Ginnie, which leads one to be there when its not peak season(quite enjoyable).

I was just at Ginnie yesturday, on Christmas eve, I thought it would be quite, and man, it was beautiful!!

Your 100% right, Its a BIG turn off when its crowded, everyone drinking, and you cant even dive, its so stired up.

Yesturday the water didnt have a ripple in it, crystal clear, and I dove both the ball room and through the ear back into the cornflakes, and I never enjoyed that dive so much until yesturday, it was simply amazing

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Blue Herion Bridge.

Everytime I dive it, everyone makes a big deal about it, and it sucked everytime! lol

I don't know what makes that such a great dive everyone brags about around here, I just dont get it

See, I like BHB. I nearly had the shock of my life there when I chanced upon a Northern Stargazer who makes his residence there and I mistook the ugly beast for a flounder and was about to drive a sharp pointy knife into his electric skull! Yes, that and the octopus under the bridge, and the grouper I was shooing the octopus to... yes.. it was a fun New Years dive. :)

OK - now Lovers Key - unless your into watching some sea grass and small fish, its about as interesting at 8' deep 120 yards off the beach as excitings as that time my dad and I smacked a nitro tablet with a hammer.. nothing, not even a pop.

You don't get it because you don't take time to stop and smell the flowers. I've never had a dive there that was less than fabulous. Cushion Sea Stars, Octopus, Snake Eels, Spotted Eagle Rays, Yellowhead Jawfish, Pen Shells, Urchins....... there's always so much life there and much of it is not common at other area sites.
