But I think @BoltSnap runs a dive school actually

Exactly 💯 Also, there are no qualified dive equipment service centers or technicians here in Libya. I want to service my own equipment and other divers' equipment. There is no hydro testing facility either. Eventually, I want to be able to do that as well at the right time.

While specialized compounds virtually match the impedance of water, I was happy to see that polyethylene is a really good fit at about 1.73 MRayl. Why? Because most take-out food plastic containers are made of it, something easy to find anywhere for anyone.
Great stuff! My inner nerd is happy this morning.

A thought: If the issue is matching the impedence of the media (usually water) to the container, once you get this close, could you tune it up by changing the water to something more dense? In this case, instead of using water as your sonicator bath solution, one could switch to glycerine? That'll up your density by a solid 25%. It's a bit messy, maybe, but if you're after the perfect match, it could work?

Never mind. Just occurred to me you still have to deal with the transition back into your cleaning solution, which voids all the gain you might get there.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming...

I did think of the same thing actually — a few years back in a „throw ideas while at the pub“ mode with some musician friends we were discussing recording some percussive instruments under water to get more low-end tambre and lose some of the “hiss” at the high end spectrum that you normally get in, well… air
At the risk of having a runaway thread, I actually prefer listening to music underwater specifically because of that: my ears are sensitive/-vely biased against higher frequencies and I get a more enjoyable experience (besides being actually underwater)
This topic is super dear to my heart and closer to the end of my year and half here on scubaboard I discovered that our dearly departed @Angelo Farina was literally a professor in that field, would have loved to geek out (mainly listen) about this with him
RIP Angelo, you’re truly missed

I have always used polypropylene tripour beakers from Fisher Scientific. They come in a variety of sizes and are meant to withstand high use in a wet lab.

Well here it is nice and cheap-small fits everything scuba, even fits a double hose
if you can bear doing half at a time how many you doing 1 a week or 15 a month

So if you put your formula in the microwave for one or two minutes all the better
Microwave you say, my injector nozzle formula of thinner, and alcohol, 2 minutes

So have a look in here, find a formula for your doings, or make your own formula
Pull out the SDS for the ingredients, and buy them and mix them and be pleased
with your achievement at being able to sonicise all sorts of things, for your family

Your teeth for instance

Just because three sonics broke in 8 years or 8 years ago means theirs broke not yours

Be brave, bust the myth fifty bucks each, buy two, one for the formula, one for the detergent, and one for

No containers no tipping

Hey who needs an ultrasonic anyway happy happy happy

I think it's almost thirty years, five bucks that one up there cost me at the market, but No guarantee

find a formula for your doing
I actually just tried your laundry powder formula yesterday — damn strong degunker (I might have gone extra on tge amount of powder)
Shiny AF!

I have a question about DH regs service actually, since you mentioned the injector nozzle and I am considering one (my 1st) myself.
What would be the procedure for dealing with nozzels/HP parts, beyond the “thinner/Alco” mix? I’m considering a DAAM/RAM options
(We can take this to DM not to derail the thread — when has that ever happened on SB!?)

Dude dude dude dude dude

Now who on earth has the desire to whisper around in direct messages witholding knowledge from the people

Maaaaaaaate how good is that washing powder stuff hey, mothers everywhere worldwide been using it forever

But you can spend another hundred bucks and put 20 spray bottles of similarly claimed stuff under your trough

Maybe, like simpleton green, probably the guy that owns the company, wrote the manual suggesting you use it

Laundry powder is good. Powerful brewery wash (PBW), a mix of sodium percarbonate (active ingredient in most laundry detergents) and chelating agents is better still for most cleaning, but I cannot say I have used it on regs.
