Same for me - someone commented on the comparison that had been provided earlier and said that even though you couldn't compare manufacturer's specs like for like - there were things in the specs sheets that could instantly rule out a particular model - and a shaft drive is one of those - a shaft and its seals etc is just one more thing that can cause problems.

Yep. @mr_v doesn't want anybody to ignore his beloved Suex because its specs don't measure up.

But, I think it's TOTALLY valid to rule out an option based on specs.

Shaft seal? Dealbreaker.
Open the hull to charge? Dealbreaker.
Can't fly with it? Dealbreaker for some people.

Totally valid to rule one out based on those specs - in my opinion. Especially when there are options that are comparable in all other ways and don't have any of those issues.

If money is not an issue I would certainly get a GO. Unfortunately in Norway the Go is now around $7000 and the suex is $5000. Not sure if it is worth that much more.

I guess it depends on what a person needs, if the lower range etc of the Suex is adequate for what is needed then it probably isn't worth spending the extra, if not then they will need to get a Go I guess.

I know everybody has their brands preferences, and some had concerns about seacraft support in the US. Just wanted to add i recently needed the seacraft prop grease and emailed seacraft usa (Vermont) about purchasing some. Jim didn't even charge for it just asked my address and it was shipped the next day. I have heard other places In the us are currently working on servicing and supporting seacraft dpvs. So this may not be as much an issue as some seemed concerned about. Just wanted to add this since so far it seems like seacraft and their partners are fully committed to ensuring customers have the support they need in the US.

One flaw of the GO that I haven’t heard anyone mention and that I’ve personally experienced and seen on two units is if you go get sediment like sand sucked in it often go inside between the prop and motor and in many cases cause scratches in the ceramic coating of the motor. Which according to seacraft can result in corrosion of the motor if bad enough. They can re-cote it for 300€..
this is a major weakness to me.
Any other machine with shaft surely haven’t got this problem if sand gets around the prop?

That sounds remarkably like a problem that was described to me by someone who had owned several Seacraft Future DPVs - and said to have this problem with at least one of his Futures.

He described getting silt in there while cave diving.

I am also curious to hear more about it.

I’ve tried a bunch of scooter now. Suex’s instant response, setting the speed on the knob and the trigger lock and jump functionality are big wins to me.

I really tried to like the seacraft ghost. But every time you stopped for anything length time it was this whole hassle to get going. Turn it on, unlock it, pick a gear and finally get going.

Vs with the suex twist power knob on and press trigger. It created a lot of separation with the team as people were not all ready at the same time. I’m sure it’s something you get use to when using them a lot, but for me the interface and user experience was a no go.

Is there a jump functionality with the new Quantum?
