So I got a chance to ride the Go today, I only rode it for ten minutes so these are only my first impressions.

First off this thing is stable, normally small scooters are a little squirrelly but this thing was steady as a rock. It actually took a little effort to turn it, not a huge amount just more than expected. It has plenty of power, I never felt like I was missing anything while entering the Ear or going through the Lips and the Key Hole. It tows like a dream you hardly know it is there.

A couple of things I didn't like, the speed ramping. I am spoiled by the Suex, but I like the instant power that it has. The full power mode took a double click which then took a second to get up to speed. Not a huge issue for a tow scooter, but would be annoying as a primary for cave diving. The power switch moves too easily, would prefer a more solid detent, another minor issue as the double click to start would prevent accidental activation.

I'm convinced and I have a Go on wish list.

How did you find the full power mode (gear 9 is it?)? Someone mentioned to me that they never use it on full power as it's too uncomfortable ripping along.

I'm not sure I would cruise at that speed, but it wasn't bad. We only really use max speed to get through restrictions. With my Suex I pulse it as the two stage trigger makes that easy. With the Go I got lined up (like getting all my bottles over the little cliff in the Lips), and then double click to get me out past the worst of the flow.

Ahh I got ya now. Didn't realise you were using it in caves. I'm diving along reefs etc. and was considering how useable the top speed is to get to a destination a bit quicker, saving on gas reserves etc.

In my opinion, you conserve both gas and battery runtime going middle speed (4-5 out of 9)

This last beach dives, we had a diver with a Blacktip join us. He set the pace. For the most part, I did the entire dive on 5th “gear”, using top speed to catch up to someone or to beat someone to the next ledge. After a 90 minute dive, I was at 50% battery.

Top speed in no currents or with-the-current is a little uncomfortable. I had cold water seeping into my wetsuit.

I therefore understand that the purpose of the highest speed is not for no current or with-current but instead for that extra power for navigating against-the-current scenarios.

I did enter a high-current area that started after a bend - I was stood still.

It was a funny scenario - my dive friend had entered the bend before me and appeared hovering. So I thought he was assessing or watching something. I quickly realized why he appeared stood still haha.
