My husband and I have ownership in a timeshare (that we can’t figure out how to get rid of)
It's a horrible racket to inflict upon tourists. There are sites that will work to get you out of that losing contract.

I would never try to land a boat at El Mirador when there are much gentler beaches up the coast from there, not to mention the much calmer waters on the other side of the island.

I was thinking the same thing. But it makes a good story - very dramatic. ;)

Hi @Kimela

How was the diving?

Hi Craig! The diving was good. We only did three days - a bit cold for us at 81 (don’t laugh!). I got rammed by a black durgon trigger fish. I guess I was too close to its territory and he hit me in the leg and went after my fin tips. I read (afterward) you’re supposed to keep your camera and fins between the fish and yourself, while swimming horizontally out of their territory. If you go up you are still in their territory. Thankfully, that’s what I instinctively did. First time for everything. Pic of offending fish below.

Oh, and we did the C53 for the first time. It was a nice dive.

If anyone knows what the white eggs below are please let me know. Also, we didn’t make the burr fish puff up, but I wasn’t going to let the opportunity to take a few pics pass me by.

I think R bought in 1990. The only time we really get our money’s worth is when we covert it to hotel points and use them - and we seem to forget each year when the window is to make that conversion. We’ve used it a couple of times for a time share in Hawaii and that was worth it - beautiful property. But the additional all-inclusive cost makes it a financial wash, at best. I think we’ll hang on to it and leave it to the least favored child at the time!! ;)

I see black durgon frequently, I did not know they could be territorial like that. We are often hounded by gray triggerfish in Florida. They are known to be able to inflict a significant bite to exposed skin

After this experience I will continue to dive in rash guards or more. I had my head down, looking for macro, so I probably missed the cone (missed the forest for the trees, so to speak).

Do you get any say in how the fees are developed or used?

Ok, well, put a reminder in both phones that renews annually.

No. They’re HUGE (Hilton Grand Vacations) and they tell us how they’re spending our money!

Good idea. I’ll do that right now. :)
