Duh…I totally spaced out that Kyalami couldn’t fill the Jupiter boat so they consolidated us on their WPB boat. The above blab was a WPB dive out of the Riviera Beach area.

I think if one is narc’d while on the surface, one is either stoned or just dumb. I’m not smart enough to withstand getting stoned so double dumb it is!

Dive report Monday, April 21:

Jupiter Dive Center. We went north to the Loran tower ledge. Water temps of 76-77, vis of 50’, moderate north current. We saw Loggerheads, tons of lionfish our divers brought up, two Goliath groupers, lots of lobster, reef sharks, a big lemon shark, and a sailfish (I was working deck so this was topside). A great dive day. Seas started at 2-3 and ended at 1-2. The next couple days look really good.

At low tide,,,,,It's tough to find deep enough water to get into/out of the Jupiter inlet. Red curve & waves break is the amount of shallow sand that is built up. Turtle season May 1st means no dredging till next year at the earliest. I've seen boats do a sudden stop hitting the sand bar out there.

That explains why JDC frequently comes along the shore going into/out of the inlet. I saw the wave break but didn't realize how shallow it had become. I suspect the will dredge early next year?
Opp's I move this over from the incorrect PalmBch thread

I've been on both JDC & SW boat and the props were blowing up a tiny bit of sand, but bigger boats are going to hit. Local knowledge is King when driving a boat !!

I just did some dives in Jupiter. I think I recall seeing like 76 degrees at depth. Viz okay, a little cloudy but blue-ish water. I tend to get cold easy so was wearing a (vintage style) 5mm suit of genuine USA Rubatex and a Henderson 3mm vest top and a rash guard shirt under it all and was warm enough.

Huge lemon, a loggerhead turtle, a few reef sharks and a good sized Goliath.

It's just about the migration time for Jupiter bull sharks at they traverse thru and head north. I'm on the R4-2T with JDC Sunday 27 before heading to the Keys. Everything edible is closed season so I'll practice my yearly ISO & f_stop frustrations and leave the shafts at home.

you sure it has nothing to do with the damn bulls, lemons and especially the HH's that have been giving me hell?

Hello all, I’m looking for a dive buddy for a 2-tank dive at Jupiter Dive Center, Saturday 5/24 or Sunday 5/25. I’m relatively new to diving, but I have Advanced Open Water and Nitrox certification. I also own all my gear, so I would just need to rent a 2nd tank. I’ve only done freshwater dives in the Florida springs so far. Looking for someone who’s dived Jupiter before, as these will be my first ocean dives. Unless someone recommends I hire a private guide? I live in Ocala so I’d probably get a hotel for the night before the dive, and drive back after diving. Let me know if you guys have any other advice!
