Kyalami today.

We went to Loggerhead and then Bonnie’s. Both are reef dives. Saw a Caribbean reefie (young adult) right off the descent and then “Turtlerama” started. I lost count of the Loggerhead turtles today. Somebody said they counted 23 on the first dive.

1.5mm WS. Viz was great.

Bonnie’s was nice with more Loggerheads either buried or burrowing in the vegetation. Two healthy adult reef sharks and a green Moray.

Viz dropped a little but was still great.

Today’s crew was top notch. Captain Joe (senior Captain), Spencer, Layla and Alec did a superb job taking care of customers, running brief but complete safety checks and controlling the boarding.

After I get past my next few courses ($$$) I intend to start traveling again and hope to find the same quality charters I’ve found here in Florida. I’d have to work really hard to have a bad dive in Florida.
Where does Kyalami leave from? I am looking at Jupiter dive trips with them, but cannot find where they are. Thanks!

Square Grouper Tiki Bar for their Jupiter boat.

You’ll navigate into a fairly tight drop off point at the restaurant’s open air entrance. You’ll see Kyalami’s pop up canopy there. The boat crew will receive your kit and get it to the boat while you park in one of the large traditional lots that you’ll see / pass on your way in.

Did the Jupiter Dive Center afternoon 2 tank today. Capt Phil, crew Tariq, Charlie and Brandon( DM). Dropped on Curlie Reef with weird currents ended up on Scarface. Lemon shark was waiting when we hit to bottom. Visibility was great with some mild thermoclines. Temps were nice the occasional chill was nice still stayed in the 80's ill have to check my computer to see if we saw any 70s. The current was actually running South East trying to push us off the ledges. Saw and played tag with a GG. Pickup was "sporty" with a big thanks to the crew! Capt Phil wisely called it at 1 dive. JDC was great about the only 1 dive. Going out with them again Thursday.

Did the morning 2 tank wreck dive today with Kyalami. Packed boat crew was superb almost too atte tive.
First drop was on the west facing ledges in about 85fsw temps were nice lower 80s mid to upper 70s. Visibility was great. I saw my only lionfish this trip about the size of a silverdollar. Loggerhead Turtle and lemon sharks. Sporty pickup. I like the fin friendly ladders and because I run freedive fins I really like handing them up before climbing!
2nd drop was on the Zion wreck train. Visability was great! Friendly GG's everywhere. I got a lot of good shark videos. Temps...my Garmin reported lowest temp at 68'F! I tried to keep above the thermocline. I think the only way you would have gotten me to the bottom is if my wife found herself in trouble. I was just wearing a rash guard. Kyalami again did great hopefully my wife will fill in names later.
JDC canceled the 3 tank dive for tomorrow so we're done for this trip. I'll do a trip report after we get back.

This morning @MrChen, his cousin and I dived with Jupiter Dive Center on their 2-tanker. It was a sunny morning with air temps in the mid-80s. It was breezy early and then the winds died out as predicted. We started with bumpy 2-3s which calmed to mostly 1-2’ as the morning wore on.

We were on Republic IV with Capt Ryan, DM Ryan in the water and mate Kirby on deck. We did Capt Kirle’s & Loggerhead. We had top to bottom 84 F water temps with no thermocline! Current was a moderate north. We had 30-40’ on Kirle’s and 40-50’ viz on Loggerhead.

I ended up getting separated both dives from @MrChen and his cousin. @MrChen was hunting so we were diving at two different paces.

I had two predominantly solo dives. On Kirle’s I saw multiple reef shark, nurse shark, a few very large Goliath Grouper, a very large loggerhead sleeping in a cave and all the usual tropicals. On Loggerhead I saw one Goliath, 5 loggerheads, 4 reef shark, and HUGE schools of Spadefish, horse eye jacks, snapper & grunt. Both dives were excellent!

Diving with Pura Vida tomorrow in Palm Beach. It’s looking like a calm, flat, hot dry day. Hope that holds!

.. We did Capt Kirle’s & Loggerhead. We had top to bottom 84 F ,,,,@MrChen
Nice to hear temps stabilized. For lobsters>>did you & @MrChen see "Alot" or "Alittle" ? Thanks for the conditions reports !!
