They are pretty fragile when empty. 300 bar is worse than 200 bar in that regard.
Worse comes to worse, You could try cutting it down to 200bar depth on the din thread....

I don't have the tanks here to take a pic,
but I have cut them down to use with a yoke adapter.

Its pretty hard to find a 5/8npt tap,
But I have run across what I believe to be 7/8 npt on certain industrial tanks,
Had Sherwood valves on it.

I had also forgotten about this. I've see Tracy post pics of valves cut down. I guess I thought I locked it away in the back of my head but apprently not! Great idea... again!

When you do that do you setup a jig or ??
The tap works fine. Just make sure it's a straight one (parallel) and not tapered. This will work on a DIN tank: G 5/8 - 14 TPI BSP Parallel British Standard Pipe Tap [M_M_S] | eBay
Thank you Sir, much appreciated for the link!!

I used a milling machine.
But as tracy shows in the link.
Hacksaw works, but it's all about the operator.😀 add a small square and file... you can do a nice job,
OR zip disk in a grinder, and sanding flap wheel.

Yeah, a jig. I definitely do that.
Or just eyeball it and start cutting.
One of those two things is definitely what I would do.
