I'm a Fish!
I am going into tech diving and was wondering which setup would be best. I like BPs but they don't carry a lot of storage, and usually don't have integrated wights either. The Zeagle has a #65 bladder which is a lot but also plenty of pockets and rings which I need. I am looking for some opinions please.
AND RECOMMENDED BP BRANDS/PACKAGES WOULD BE NICE TO KNOW.

What brand or bp/w package do you use/ recommend. I'm 6'2 and coming up on 160 lbs.

What an absurd MSRP for a product unequivocally worse than other options for your use case (or all use cases?)

Light Monkey, Halcyon, DGX, etc all make better options than the 911. Get a singles wing for now and later a doubles wing (40-45# for smaller doubles, 55-60# for larger doubles). There aren’t any worthwhile dual use wings.

what do I use?
Deep Sea Supply long pattern plates in stainless and kydex with a 55lb wing for doubles and rebreather -no longer available
Freedom Plate in long from @Eric Sedletzky with a 30lb single tank wing from @Bryan@Vintage Double Hose

What do I recommend? You have only said you're going into tech which I assume means doubles, and you can't really beat this for price
DGX Custom - DGX Doubles Harness / Backplate / Wing Package
Halcyon makes good but very expensive stuff, the above link is basically the same as a Dive Rite *wing from same supplier*, Oxycheq is VERY good but a bit spendy, etc. Frankly there are usually enough used sets around that I would go there first.

I checked all of those and they are more of a mix and match. Also i could get the Zeagle new for 600 from a local dealer and friend, and you can a attach a back-plate to that too. Couldn't find any used bp's as well. Does anyone know a good place to buy new or lightly used backplate AND wing PACKAGES. I don't really have the time or nerve to go searching around for a metal plate, wing, harness, then way to attach weight, and then in the end very streamlined, but also maybe to minimalist for my uses.

you are unlikely to find anything that includes weight pockets since most people don't use them.

are you going into doubles or staying in singles for now?

soon to go into doubles, but also back and forth. i guess you must wear a weight belt then huh. That's something i wanted to avoid.

I have seen other bp/w setups from oms, hollis, scuba pro, and posiedon. Are those any good?

if you go back and forth, you'll really need two wings. At your size you can get away with a single SS backplate, but you'll need separate wings for singles and doubles. There are several in the marketplace here right now for singles and doubles
