The instructor is still making my wetsuits-drysuits today, right now, again, still
and other neoprene, rubber type things, easier for them to do, than me to do
etc

Some homemade pieces of 2 kg leads from the fifties. A belt from Scubapro from 1972 (the belt loop itself is in bad condition, the stainless buckle still looks good). A Nemrod mask and fins from the early seventies.

I really don't buy new.... but the oldest individual piece of gear I dive semi-regularly is a late 50's Healthways SCUBA double hose reg. It's got a couple mods for better breathing.... but it's still one of my favorites.

Not my oldest gear, that would be my gifted USD Pico Mistral but this USD Calypso J was purchased by me with lawnmower money in about 1966 and it still works. I use if for cleaning my sisters pool last time. It is okay for that but the tiny exhaust valve is just dangerous to use for actual in the ocean diving:

The SeaVue gage and Princeton Bottom Timer all still work.

I bought a “state of the art” Dacor Digital Information Center with all the rest of the gear I bought when I got certified in 1986. It came in a console with an SPG.

The console has since deteriorated and I think I gave the SPG to a dive guide friend in Cozumel when I upgraded to a Suunto Eon.

The Dacor still works and I took it on a dive a few years ago to make sure it didn’t leak.

The picture of the console is not mine.

Royal Aquamaster I bought new in 1969, although the can and the label are the only remaining original parts, thanks to the late Bryan Pennington and Vintage Double Hose

Found this in one of my gear boxes, it is my very first snorkel, Healthways. I believe is was purchased around 1970 or 1972, for one of my first family vacations to the Keys (Islamorada). Only modification is that I sealed the drain valve when the diaphragm rotted out. And I replaced the orange safety sticker.
