Your deepest depth

You are never "certified" for any depth. It is a matter of comfort and experience.

I did 54 feet in the lake Sunday and it was more of a challenge than all of my Cozumel dives over 100 feet put together.

There are no SCUBA police sitting at 60 or 130 feet to look at your pretty card collection. There are only friends and family on the surface if you do not come up alive.

That being said...My deepest dive to date is 135 feet. AND it was within the limits of my comfort and experience.

I dont see why you felt the need to rip into me like that, you dont know me! Of course I dive within my limits whether they be depth or any other factor! And yes my card collection is very pretty :blinking:

Deepest Dive was 125 feet, near zero vis, slight current and on a 63 year old wreck. Let's just say I wasn't comfortable going the last 8 feet to the bottom.

Driving, however, 155mph in Montana on the way to Libby.

I dont think depth is should ever be the defining factor of your dive I have been diving for six years (i am not sure if that is experianced or inexperianced considering who i am talking to) and I am not sure what my deepest dive is. I think you should just get wet go to your site, enjoy the dive and come home happy.

C'mon all. It is about the EXPERIENCE in addition to the education! Stay with me here.

I am reading the "PDIC Basic Technical Diving" manual and doing the workbook. GREAT STUFF!

However,

On several pages it says: "ASSUMED DIVE, FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS TRAINING EXERCISE, THE ASSUMED FIRST DIVE WILL NOT BE MADE....IT WILL ONLY BE ASSUMED TO HAVE BEEN MADE." (and YES it is in bold print I did not ad that)

Any dive to 130 feet they just want you to.........I quote; "The ASSUMED first dive: a successful excursion to a depth of 130 feet for a bottom time of 25 minutes"

So even when you are "certified" does not mean "QUALIFIED"?

After completing this NO-DIVE course, I will be "certified" to 180 feet

What do you think about that? Scary ehy?

My instructor is going to take me on these training dives even though he said he is not suppose to. Simply because I said I am NOT going to pay for this course without getting EXPERIENCE? If I FREAK OUT or get "The heebe geebies" Start Narcing and need a pro to guide me through it then we are DOING the dives

How would you like to fly with a pilot that had a "pilots licence but only "ASSUMED" to fly the plane?

I have in front of me the PDIC Basic Technical Diving Book And Workbook here Written by Fred Calhoun PE. I have read it 3 times. There is tonnes of math and formulas on nitrox tables decom proceedures Air and mixd gas MGMT procedures. And yes certification upto 180ft. WITH OUT DOING THE DIVES!!!!!!!! I can fax it to you....I was agahst!!!!!!

I must have 100 dives recorded for review before taking the course, score a 90% on the test AND pay the fee. NO DEEP DIVES and BAM i get a "certification" card. WHOOO HOOOO!

I skimmed their web site and it looks like they sell technical diving books but I don't see any technical diving courses listed.

I think you should check on that and you might want to go to a real technical diving agency...and instructor.

What agency would you reccomend? I have real interest in extended range, mixed gas, and wreck.
