I'm a Fish!
It's not everyday you certify a 71 year old woman in basic Open Water, so we thought we should share it...

[INLINE=left]http://www.scubaboard.com/gallery/data/500/2013-02-09_11_44_14.jpg[/INLINE]Vickie, a Colorado resident, and her mother Billie from Kansas decided they wanted to become scuba certified for a few reasons. The first is because Vicky is getting married here in Florida in a few months and will be honeymooning in Aruba. The second, is so both mother and daughter can stop watching the fish from the surface and join them below.

Both women are naturals in the water. Vickie was a competitive swimmer growing up, and her mother was the coach. It is no surprise they they had mermaids locked up inside just waiting to get out. "It is such a pleasure to teach people with this kind of natural ability. They completed all the skills with no problems." reports Force-E instructor, HowardE

For their final Open Water dives, they met up at South Florida Diving Headquarters. Students on one boat and husband-to-be on the other. The conditions couldn't have been better! The visibility was around 80' and water temp was 76. They breezed through their skills with no problems. After completing all their skills, as if it was planned, they were congratulated by their ocean friends with a fly-by of a Bull Shark.

The groom returned to the dock and was received by two very excited Open Water divers. Yes folks, we have two new divers that are totally hooked. They are wasting no time and will be diving more this week, so be sure to congratulate them! :clapping:

Congratulations to the new "mature" diver. My wife and I were certified at age 68 less than two years ago and now have 150 dives. Obviously we were "hooked" as well. We are headed to Curacao in three weeks for another wonderful week of diving at Allwest Diving in Westpunt.
