Hi All,

I will be heading to Hikari (well Shimata, but close enough) in early to mid November to visit relatives and was looking for some information on diving in and about the Hikari City region. I'll be flying in from Australia.

Specifically I was looking for infromation about places for equiment (ie I'm not sure what kit to bring other than regs and mask) and places to dive and with whom.

I've yet to sort out time as the family are getting quite old and we need to spend time with them and they are just nice so that is worth it itself, but I'd be dissappointed to not get wet somewhere.

Not asking for much am I :)

Looking forward to chatting about things.

Cheers,

Andy.

Hello, Yamaguchi? Most foreigners are diving Izu, Kanagawa. I think a few dive at local shops in the Kansai area, they go to Wakayama. But Yamaguchi, you have to have your relatives find a local dive shop there and make arrangements. And probably no one speaks Enlgish there.

Shops will rent you everything, BCD, reg, etc. But I think you will be doing drysuit that time of year.

Good luck, sorry not much of a help. I am in Tokyo.
