I am closing on my house on Jan 12 (in San Diego) and was just starting to get sad about having no dive buddies until my husband moves out in March...and then I see this!! Huzzah!!

I am driving out with clothing and dive gear, so I will try to get there for a dive on the 13th. If nothing else, I will pop by and introduce myself.

I will need to get a fill en route - can someone tell me where to go and what time they open? Alternately, I might be able to pick up a fill on the 12th... My new house is in metro San Diego.

thanks a bunch, and happy 2007! Allison

:wavey: Congrats on the upcoming move, Allison. Looking forward to finally meeting you in person. I have a feeling that lack of dive buddies will be a total non issue. That SD crew is absolutely nuts about diving ! I think you're gonna love it here.

Oh and don't forget ... if you need any help at all moving heavy stuff, John L. (aka wetrat) is your man :D

He's right Allison, we are absolutely nuts about diving, I've actually been diving every day this year so far.....

Seriously, when you are ready to start exploring the Shores or doing some boat diving do not hesistate to send me a PM, I think we can find plenty of opportunities for you in our beloved San Diego.

It's still over a week away! Everyone will sign up Monday - Thursday to bring stuff. Shall I put you down for the condiments? If so, which ones?

What hotel are people recommending? I like quiet and close but also cheap. Willing to share room Sat. night. Plan on making second AM dive Saturday and staying through boat trip Sunday AM.

Anyone coming in Friday and want to dive Friday Night? I already have one request and I'm ready willing and able to fulfill it. If anyone else would like to tag along.

I've been reading reports of massive changes in the submarine topography at some San Diego sites like Vallecitos Point. What's the "skinny" on that... how will it affect the diving at the Shores? I'd like to swing down to SD/LJ for this one, but would be a bit hesitant if the critters have been "wiped out" (as I've read). Missy? Terry? DiveKim?

While the topography has changed dramatically from Vallecitos Point and sound, the north and far north walls remain relatively intact. Come on down Doc.. Ya never know what you will see till ya go.

I've read/heard the same Dr B but I haven't gotten out and explored the canyon since the collapses & changes have occured~ but I am pretty curious.. I understand that my favorite site in the canyon, the Secret Gardens, has all but been wiped out completely.. :( Todays reports on Divebums have mentioned that the Cabezon Cruiser is no longer in its previous spot, or has been covered in sand... We've had storms before, so I guess I'm baffled as to why SO much has suddenly changed... what happened down there?
